Hi DaveW71
I'm not folding for EVGA but would like to welcome you to the team all the same. :)

I noticed the amount you made for your first work unit. Are you folding on a single core machine? If not the guys here can help you produce more by configuring your machine to use all of your cores.

Thanks for the welcome!
Running an AMD 4200+ dual-core. And I was wondering why it didn't produce much either. Doing some reading as well trying to figure this all out. Thanks for your assist BTW :)

If you go into the advanced options on the console client, you can set a different machine ID to run 2 uniproc clients on that chip.

welcome! prepare for an addiction for which there is no cure!
There is plenty of information if the forums on how to setup to get the best PPD. You should certainly be getting more out of that chip than 69 points (though that is a nice number)

Because no matter which position  it works out? lol!  ummm well still fidling with configuration and I chose multi-core in the tracker but not spreading up the process. Going to head over to the other threads to see if I can figure this out.

Are you using the FAH GPU Tracker V2? Either way, here is a quick guide to help get it setup correctly.

If you're not using the 9800 to fold yet, you may want to turn that on as well. It should be good for ~5000 PPD (point per day) if you leave it going all the time. If you decide to turn it on, you may want use Precision or MSI Afterburner to setup a custom fan profile to keep thing nice and cool since it will have a load for an extended period.

Yup just installed FAH GPU Tracker V2 and used the guide to setup everything. Just now turned on the GPU client. 494 points for that project using the GPU client. Using INTUNE for setting the fan to max.....I didn't use GPU client at first 'cause the fear my system couldn't handle it. Only one I have atm besides my wifes work pc.

Welcome to the team like everbody has stated already this is a great group. Since your using an AMD dual core I would use the unicrocessor, let one core fold uniprocessor and the other run the gpu client. Or don't fold with the cpu. The cpu won't get that many ppd and your system won't run that great folding smp and gpu. . Down the road when you do decide to build a new rig throw a post up and if you have any questions you will get pointed in the right direction.

When my systems start to look they are tired or want to slow down bit...I flex at them so to show them who's boss.

Just make sure temps are kept in check and only fold the amount you are comfortable with at any given time. Every work unit is doing some research, so they all help.

Be careful, this is addicting. I built my comp as a gaming rig, but now I fold more than I game now.

Personally, I have my bigadv run on all cores, and just give my GPU a slightly higher priority. Keeps all cylinders banging away on the bigadv, without bottlenecking the GPU.

It's probably not worth it to fold on the cpu, the GPU is great for folding though!
