I googled and browsed this forum and couldn't really find a solution for me. I got a GTX590 stock clockspeed, worked fine til today i got a driver crash as i was watching youtube. the screen got weird colors and then system froze. after reboot the screen was full of white lines and would not go away until i replugged the card. then if i try to boot, ill get bsod before win7 loads up. But i can boot into safe mode, uninstall the nvidia driver then get into normal mode. But reinstalling any nvidia driver will give me bsod while booting. tried several drivers and im really trying to avoid a reformat. so any ideas?

Sounds like the card Died. Do you have a different card you cab test or a different computer that you can put in the GTX 590 and test? What is the BSOD Code? 117 or 116 and so on. Start in Safe Mode and Remove all the NVIDIA Drivers and see if the default VGA Driver will load.

If you are able to do so try to load a windows restore point prior to the problem.

Almost certainly the card died..Try it in another system/take it to a PC repair shop for testing/try another card in your system like bcavnaugh said..If you determine the card's bad then RMA it if it's under warranty or you could try saving it by disassembling it and baking only the PCB like this if it's not, and hope for the best..Solder cracking somewhere on the PCB isn't uncommon and will cause all kinds of issues (BSOD, artifacting, freezing, etc.) and baking should reflow any cracks that might exist and that will fix it, with any luck, if that's the problem..If you bake it, do it with the GPU side up.

I can uninstall the driver from safemode then the card will disappear from device manager, but it allows to boot into windows normal mode. After that it takes a min but windows will find gtx590 by itself then I'm able to install drivers, but when I do and restart, I get this bsod. I tried restore to a week earlier, didn't help.

Up your vCore in your Bios. By .10 Do not let Windows install the Driver. Let the computer boot two times to clear the drivers then do the below. On a Side Note that I have learned to do is delete the two Keys listed below. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\Video It will error and say it cannot delete the Key, but that is ok as it cannot delete the Key itself nor the Default VGA Driver GUIDs. What it will delete is all the GUID's for NVIDIA's Drivers. REBOOT After you delete the Keys. This is the last item that I do before I install a New Video Drivers. Then Install the current Driver: 344.60 and install ONLY the Graphics Driver and the PhyX Driver and do a Custom and Clean install.

BSOD 116 = Faulty GPU, GPU not receiving proper power (check and make sure the pci-e cables are connected to the PSU/GPU fully), Faulty PSU.

Hey, Thanks for using EVGA Forum. I'm glad to help you in regards to your issue. I understand that you cannot load the Windows 7 operating system with the NVidia Driver. I will appreciate if you could provide me detailed information about your computer specifications. Anyways, based on your query the following solutions will be definitely helpful for you: Conduct memory diagnostic process to check whether the problem is associated with the computer memory: 1. Click Start, type "memory" in the Search Box. 2. Open the "Windows Memory Diagnostic". 3. Click "Restart now and check for problems". Adjust the Paging File Size again. Set the most appropriate Paging File size as shown below. Then run ActiveX/ DLL registration scan with the help of Reginout software. Resolve any internal conflicts found. 1. Right click the Computer icon on your desktop. 2. Select Properties from the context menu. 3. Click “Advanced system settings” link. 4. System Properties dialog will be displayed. 5. Click Settings (Performance) -> Advanced. 6. Click Change (Virtual Memory). 7. Uncheck the box named “Automatically manage the paging file size for all drives”. 8. Select the system drive, usually drive C:\ 9. Select “Custom size” option. 10. Increase the current paging file size, and then click Set button. 11. Click OK | OK | OK. 12. Restart your computer for the changes to take effects. Check problems with your hard disk, i.e. disk read/ write issues that prevent retrieving/ accessing data in the system files. 1. Double click Computer icon. 2. Right click a partition. 3. Select Properties. 4. Click Tools -> Check Now. Thanks & Regards, Aaron Sandler.
