I hate to admit that I just received my free games codes from Amazon for both of my classifieds. This is the only reason I don't want to return the cards, because I ordered them separately so that I could get the three codes per card. Now I am too embarrassed to admit that I feel like I bought garbage and don't want to lose the money to restock the cards as well as lose the amount that the six game codes will cost. If EVGA can't at list give an idea of what they are trying to do, I will eat the price and switch to a different company. I have 10 days until I get my hands on my cards and can ship them back, but I will not sponsor their silence past that point.

I told myself a few weeks ago to wait till after the holidays to see what non-ref cards are available. Checked this morning on Classy and wow found this thread. Still no fix from EVGA? Is it safe to assume cards purchased from EVGA (when they come available) will have issue resolved??

That is a good question. I doubt they will push the fix if they can't support the people who have paid a ton of money toward them, and open packages that haven't shipped just to update a card they are going to rape a customer bank account with anyway.

CSPlayer089 You need to uninstall PX, flash the BIOS, then reinstall PX so it doesnt cause any issues. Just uninstall but keep your user settings. Also, this BIOS does disable boost features. So any overclocking on the "Core clock offset" will add speed to the 1084mhz base clock which this custom BIOS applies. For instance, I have PX set to +125 on the core, and when I run 3D rendering, the card goes up to ~1205mhz and does not boost any higher. So basically it's like old school overclocking without any kepler/gk110 specific boosting features.
I understand that it disables boost. But does it support different power states/clocks for idle?
Yes. That has not changed.

The more I read into this, the more I think EVGA faces a slippery slope in "addressing" 780ti Classy overclocking consistency. From this thread comes words like "obstacle," and "nVidia Green Light." From the owners thread comes a modded bios with people using EVBot, a product we know nVidia shunned. Post# 6449 shows skyn3t finding the voltage wall after all his work: http://www.overclock.net/t/1411500/official-evga-classified-owners-club/6440 With Jacob saying "they know" but hit an "obstacle," I say it's doubtful an official bios update is coming.

jonpassero go to post #15 of this thread and download the ftw2002 bios. It completely fixes the issue. Even if evga did release an official bios fix you would want to download a custom modified bios to fully utilize a classy anyway. The evga stock bios's don't have high enough of a power limit anyway. This bios below has a 690w max power limit. http://kingpincooling.com....php?t=2514&page=2 These classified's are beasts after flashing this bios and using evbot or software tool. I have gotten up to 1424mhz core and 8.6ghz memory with firestrike and extreme. Completely blowing away my 780 classy graphics score. Come to the official classified owner's club at overclock.net, I have all the info you need there. The front page has the nvflash tools you need and some instructions for flashing. Flashing a bios wont void your warranty but I believe overvolting it will. Anyone who is worried about voiding there warranty should have bought a different card. I know this fix is not official but at least we all know about it and I always planned on flashing my classy anyway. strong island 1
Hi quick question, would I need to use evbot or software tool to see gains, or can I flash bios 2 and use Precision alone? Would be using stock cooler.

Unfortunately, that's also what I'm thinking - that Nvidia is in the drivers seat. Regardless, I'd really like to get a straight answer from EVGA regarding what's going on.

It won't be much. Like most have said, it is virtually impossible to get the card to boost over 1220mhz without getting driver crashes. That's basically like a 65-80mhz offset. Pretty pathetic.

I can confirm that you need above 1.212V to get a core clock of 1220MHz or greater. Anything below that results in a driver crash/recover.

Who needs 1.212v everyone or just your cards? I have 2 in sli boosting to 1245mhz and 200 oc on the memory, . top card 1.187v and bottom 1.212v. Game stable.. Temps 71-72c top and 66-67c bottom. Can go higher but then temps increase. Waiting for my caselabs case to come then putting cards underwater... Just grab the right bios floating around, there are actually 2. At least you will gain stability with either bios..

Question about Overclocking, as I am new. Is it easier to overclock the cards individually, note the results and then remove the card to work on overclocking the second so that you can make sure you get everything steady? I want to make sure I do this right, and since I want to do it right from the start, I want to make sure I don't do it wrong :-)

So, with all these issues with the Classified cards is it best to AVOID them and put orders on HOLD? If they are (still) not remedied at this point in time, perhaps a Superclocked card is the option. Feedback?

I hope KP Editon will be launched with fixed BIOS ready to Boost on 1200MHz and 1250MHz after little OC. If I hit sample with 1275MHz Boost in games I will be very satisfied.

That is how I do it. I OC each card individually then when I put them in SLI I have a good point to start with for OC'ing them together. Your OC in SLI will only be as high as your weakest card. Be sure and have a good quality power supply When you get time it would be a good idea to put your system specs in your signature

darklyspectre Where the hell is jacob or somebody else from EVGA. they are just ignoring us involving this thing I havent seen them adress our concerns and problems. It's just like "oh we know we are working on something." others have fixed it in most cases but now its just like go ahead and complain. is everybody there on holidays or something? It's really sad . I was about to buy the classified version since I heard so much good about EVGA and their quality and customer support and now its just problems and problems with nobody really doing anything about it. really a big facesmack. Sorry for the offensive words but evga should stop sucking kingpins dick and focus on their old fans aka people spending tons of money on handicapped classifieds.
I posted this in another thread. So basically there is an issue if you use 3rd party tools (or evbot) to increase the voltage that will cause a BSOD. We know what the issue is, we know how to fix it. Unfortunately however, we have found a roadblock with actually releasing the BIOS. We are still trying to resolve this. With this being said, there is a 3rd party BIOS floating around that has the same fix, but obviously it is not officially endorsed by EVGA.
Let me guess it's NVIDIA?

Been wanting to buy one but now not. eVga is going to lose sales. Not because of not providing a "FIX" but for their evasiveness and silence. We all know that if it is Nvidia which is causing eVGA not to release a "FIX" eVGA's legal are going through all the ins and outs to protect their company. I worked in law offices many years. Seen this before. It is a slippery slope for all involved. But in trying not to cause a relationship rift with their supplier (which Nvidia is) and their customers, well we will always loose. Over the years I have seen very good products die out disappear because the manufacturer had a hold on the secondary manufacturer or boutique. Everyone loses. I have always bought video cards from eVGA and I build lots of computers. I even buy them for my company. (I am in IT) It is too bad. Looks like it could be a Kick A card. A real OCer dream. Crash and burn man.

This forum is starting to feel like gamefaqs.com . Just have a little patience or use another BIOS that will do what you need it to do. If you people want higher clocks, put cards underwater and flash a modded bios to push volts higher. With the given volts in precision, that's all the card is capable of. If you don't know this then u have no business buying the card or any other card for that matter.
