Someone asked me the same question on Twitter so I will put the reply here...
Unfortunately the comment I made about new BIOS coming was a bit premature unfortunately... we found how to fix it and can, but we ran into a roadblock with releasing it. There's a 3rd party BIOS floating around that essentially has the same changes, but obviously not "officially" endorsed by EVGA. We are still working on and official EVGA version however.

You might as well do kingpin edition SLI, that's probably where the good chips went. Like I said, I got artifacts at the factory clock speed, so I actually had to reduce them to avoid this. Reducing the factory clock to avoid artifacting, on cards geared towards overclocking, kinda messed up if you ask me. I'm going to try to step up to the kingpin edition, if I can't I'll just return the card.

atm i'd guess the update is stick with stock and dont o/c use skynets and o/c
i'd guess its nvidia blocking a official board partner o/c bios and good luck getting around that

Yeah, this is pretty worrisome considering I bought two of these with backplates and extended warranties. I don't want to flash an unofficial bios just so it works the way it should when I bought it.
I have faith in EVGA, but having no communication on the issue is the annoying part. From what I can tell, I got some lousy cards from the get-go, which is also annoying considering I waited to pay for the Classified line instead of just going with the SC version. So far, simply not impressed.

I really hope all of these problems are resolved soon... My Ti Classies are sitting at home, waiting for me to pick them up as I move from one country to the next... I grt to the next location February 2, so hopefully there is a fix by then. This is disheartening watching this fall apart after paying so much.

That I can not answer. My cards are at home in South Carolina where they were just delivered, I am in Japan, and my PC is on a boat between Japan and Korea... I have the files downloaded for now and I am hoping to have some more info by the time I get my Pc back in February.

So, for anyone that's flashed to skyn3t's BIOS on their 780 Ti Classy to unlock voltages - will adjusting the fan curve on the EVGA Precision X tool or MSI Afterburner after flashing mess with anything? I'm going to flash over to the skyn3t BIOS tomorrow (first time flashing a BIOS) after I install my backplate, and I noticed that the skyn3t BIOS has some fan control adjustments. I have a pretty aggressive fan curve I use for mining and folding, so I want to be careful and make sure using my fan curve over the one on skyn3t's BIOS won't hurt anything.
Anything else I should look out for as well?

You need to uninstall PX, flash the BIOS, then reinstall PX so it doesnt cause any issues. Just uninstall but keep your user settings. Also, this BIOS does disable boost features. So any overclocking on the "Core clock offset" will add speed to the 1084mhz base clock which this custom BIOS applies. For instance, I have PX set to +125 on the core, and when I run 3D rendering, the card goes up to ~1205mhz and does not boost any higher. So basically it's like old school overclocking without any kepler/gk110 specific boosting features.

Frequencys are predictable under overclocked conditions. The card does not interact correctly with the driver though sadly. KPE is working with high volts and overclocking with obviously no BSOD. Check out the thread on King Pin forums. SO obviously EVGA you do know the fix for this issue. Why not implement it?? This card is marketed as highly overclockable but any overclock on reboot is BSOD so full reinstall of drivers is needed just to get it working!!
