hi guys i'v been having an issue with windows 7 displaying aero glass properly (see pics below), during my last windows install i got it enabled after ending explorer.exe then reenabling it with administrative privilages, that was the only time i was able to get it working out of maby 30 fresh installs of windows and 2 different graphic cards (gtx 460 and ati 6950) also when i was able to make this change on my last install of windows i was able to disable core parking for my cpu, now i can't. anyway i have an older computer with intergrated graphics and windows 7 and it shows aero glass properly. but if i install windows 7 with a graphics card isntalled i get the same blurry glass. my main issue i guess is my x58 motherboard has no intergrated graphics so i can't try without my graphics card. anyone with any suggestions or ideas would really be appreciated thanks dustin computer hardware intel core i7 cpu (oc @3.8ghz) evga x58 mobo (e758 with beta bios 80) radeon 6950 gpu corsair 4gb ram corsair 850 watt psu corsair 60gb ssd heres a couple pics of my issue this is my main computer with specs above notice how the task bar and the top of the bar on the window are blurry heres how it looks on my old computer, like how it's supposed to look

Main (gaming) rig: i7-3930K; Asus Rampage IV Extreme; H100 W/p-p Excaliburs, AS5; MSI 7870 2GD5/OC; Crucial M4 SSD 256GB. See my primary ModsRigs: Adam for the rest, and I have a second (wife's) rig Asus Rampage III Extreme & 960: Eve. Overclocking is useless to me if it is not rock stable.

Did you run the Windows Experience Index test?

I can see you having the reflections on the glass on the secondscreen shot, but not on the first. The screenshot is to small for me to tell if it's blurry or not. First - for the "blurryness" make sure your resolution is set to match the monitor's native resolution. Next try this: Right-Click "My Computer" Click "Advanced System Settings" On the Advanced Tab, Performance Section, click "Settings" Select "Adjust for best appearance" Beyond that, we could be looking at a driver problem. Or it could be software related. Do you have anything link Object Desktop, Windows Blinds or other software installed?

I'm pretty sure the bottom picture is actually the lowered quality glass effect for lesser graphics processors. The top "blurry" glass is what Windows defaults the look to on a higher powered graphics card. My guess is instead of adjusting for best appearance, you'll have to mimic whatever lowered appearance settings that were defaulted for the bottom picture, if possible.

yes i always run wei test after a fresh install of windows. as for the pics the top picture was taken at 1920x1080 and the bottom was taken at 1024x768 on an older monitor but that is exactly what i'm talking about is those reflections, you can't see them on the top pic not because of it being small but because there isnt no reflections at all even though there should be also i would like to add, i can't disable/enable certain things like core parking for my cpu with this motherboard using windows 7 (havent tried vista yet), but with everything the exact same except a dell motherboard my aunts computer works as it should, her computer has reflections and can disable core parking.

As for the core parking issues, make sure you have the C-States enabled in the BIOS set to C6 and possibly also enable speedstep (EIST).

ok i wanted to update this incase anyone else is having this issue, i tried many many things including using a REAL admin account via the sticky in the windows 7 thread which didn't help, anyway i managed to get my reflections working by doing this #1 turn off aero #2 open taskmanager then select the processes tab then click show processes from all users (this allows you to start new tasks as admin) #3 right click on dwm.exe and end process #4 click file in the task manager then new task then type in dwm.exe and click create this task with admin privilages #5 reboot computer #6 turn aero back on
