If it's a Classified stay away from anything that is listed as a 'REF' model.

Thanks Zuhl3156. Actually, for that kind of money I can get a 1070! And Sajin, yours is waaay too expensive! 1080 territory! I appreciate the time you've taken to reply, though! I still need somewhere to go see an explanation for all of the model numbers!

Some of them have included backplates and others don't. Some don't clock as high as others. 1070 is around $454 I think. Two in SLI would be nice. The Classified I listed is top of the line.

Shockjockey Wow! The prices have really jumped. I wonder why? I bought mine new for 429 each at newegg and here is one now. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA5753NN3744
It's not sold by NewEgg but one of those price-gouging profiteering Market Place vendors. NewEgg should start paying attention and ban some of these vendors. I mentioned it to their support but you can see I got nowhere using that approach. NewEgg must be getting a sizeable cut of the sale price.

There's a heap of them for sale on the EVGA Marketplace... although you need minimum 50 forum posts to get access.

Read online reviews, is a very good start. 1) Look at the Guaranteed Clock rate; as OC is Not guaranteed ! 2) Look at fan style - what works for your PC. 3) The last two characters (-XX) designate the warranty coverage Hope this helps

Hello Loggitt and welcome to the Forums! It depends on what you are looking for. A "+" sign will indicate whether there is a backplate preinstalled or the type of fans/shroud (depending on where the + is located in the title). There are different models that will guarantee higher factory clock speeds, in order they are SC, SSC, FTW, Classified and K|NGP|N. We also have the Hybrid model which has a liquid cooler that is preinstalled. Classified, FTW and K|NGP|N models are non-reference models so they have some additional revisions that include additional power phases, different PCB size and layout, dual or triple vBIOS and additional PCI power and wattage requirements. Ultimately it is up to you and what specific features you are looking for. If you have any questions about the specifics then let us know so you can make a more informed decision.

Why the heck would you suggest a founders. They have inferior cooling and clocks.

It would depend on your setup which cooling solution will be best. If you have a confined space or higher ambient temps within the chassis then the blower style fan would be best.

That's easy... all you need is EVGA. ^^ They have ten cards in their shop. I think it's not too much to follow the diagramm with the different numbers and look online for it. - Regards

You can't go wrong with any of them. I recommend this one http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-4991-KR I have two 980s with ACX 2.0 and really like them. Mine are non Ti though. Good luck!

You may want to check EBAY. Plenty of used (like new condition with all accessories and box) 980 TIs being sold cheaply due to the new 1080s. they are all still under EVGA's warranty also.
