Is anyone using an Asus Z87 board with 970's in SLI?  Just read a post on the Asus support forums.  Asus tech support stated that running 970's in SLI is incompatible on the Asus Z87 Sabertooth mb.  I'm a bit concerned.  Might be mb upgrade time.

    It's running fine on my ASRock Z87, I haven't updated the bios in over a year. How the heck could Asus tech support say your motherboard is incompatible with sli gtx 970?? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

    If it supports SLI, there should be no reason it won't be compatible with the GTX 970's. I would understand that statement if the motherboard wasn't compatible with SLI and was just Cross-fire only or something like the good old days of the LGA 775 sockets.

    Asrock Extreme 9 AC Z87 3way SLI OK here with 980...also tested 2way, single and 2way 970, everything fine...
