Z77 upgraded graphics need question answered

Hey guys i just got a 980ti and i was wondering if i still needed the 6 pin power thats located at the bottom left hand  side still plugged in. I originally was running SLI.
 
Will its affect the card at all? Please let me know! Thanks

    Hi blakeb,
     
    The additional 6-pin PCIe power on the motherboard is only necessary when using the lower slots. If you have it available, I recommend keeping the plug connected to increase the amount of available power to the slots.
