Hi All,

If I just have one video card, is say, slot 4 the same as slot 1, speed wise?

Thanks,
Dave

Any full size slot will work on this board, per the manual, slot 4 will run at 16x.

    Thanks Dave.
I thought that was the case but wanted to confirm.
I thought I'd space things out a bit when I have a single card.
Still trying to decide between Skylake and the Broadwell Es.

I'm also waiting to see what the new Geforce cards are like.
I've been on my EVGA x58 and EVGA 680 GTX for too long, time for an upgrade :)

    No problem, glad to help.

Yeah, the X58 is starting to feel its age a bit, but over all they are still a pretty powerful platform.  Enjoy your upgrade.

Both the board and card have been perfect but the Division is bogging it down a bit.
I'll be going EVGA motherboard, video card and power supply in the new build.
There's so many new boards, processors and video cards coming out that it's confusing on what to  get but the brand choice is the only easy part :)

Honestly, if you are not planning on 3 way SLI, I would go with the Classified-K, it has a little bit more options.
EVGA RAM is a safe bet, and a good  go-to PSU these days imho is a 650 or 750 G2, of course you could go bigger, but unless you are planning on SLI down the road, ti really isn't necessary, X5 mouse is also a good choice.  You can nearly build a full EVGA system these days :)

I'm considering the K as well, though I like having the sound blaster card built in and have never bought a top end motherboard before, so I was considering the Classified this time :)
I'm also considering the x99 FTW K or if there's a new Classified.

I'm going with the EVGA 750 G2 gold (already in my amazon cart)

I'd go with new EVGA case, if it's out in time (any word on the release date)?

I'll be buying the new Pascal card from EVGA, either a 1070 or 1080 most likely.

Surprisingly, the EVGA ram doesn't show up in the approved list on the Classified Z170 or X99.
Is there a particular speed you've tested on both boards?

I'm hoping to build the new rig before No Man's sky comes out in Mid June.

    Thanks,
    Dave
