    It isn't listed in http://www.evga.com/support/motherboard/

So, I'd give EVGA a call, or email, to be sure - https://www.evga.com/about/contactus/

It is not currently supported, however I did send a request for this to the engineering team.

Full Xeon chip support would be pretty amazing, also any word on Broadwell-E Xeons? Last i looked it only listed Haswell-E Xeons.

I asked several times a couple of weeks ago about that - they still haven't gotten around to it yet. Some Broadwell-E Xeons are currently supported with the updated BIOS, but you have to call Tech Support and ask if your chip is supported or not. Inconvenient.

It may be possible to run more professional oriented chips on the boards, but as the boards are aimed at the enthusiast market, with OC features (wasted on Xeon), and a lack of ECC support, TPM or SAS drives, it is hard to see what the advantage of running these chips would be.

Come now... the E5-16XX chips are unlocked, and are binned (better quality). They OC just as well at lower voltage and lower temps because of that.

Ample advantage in my eyes at least.

For the higher core count, but locked, chips? Usually folks want them because they can use those extra cores, but don't need ECC and enjoy the costs savings of not going with a full server platform.

Obviously our definitions of what an enthusiast is varies a great deal. And from your definition I'm surprised that EVGA doesn't just make 4C/8T motherboards.
