I swapped out my graphics card, because of a failure, with an EVGA 980 TI Classified and the card will not clear the PCI_E slot with the motherboard I/O Cover installed. I see others around the internet with the motherboard I/O Cover installed. Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance for anyone's comments / suggestions.

It should fit.  It may be a tight fit, but fit nonetheless.

Try removing the I/O cover, then install the GPU.  Then re-install the I/O cover.  See if that works for you...

I will give that a try. The backplate on the 980 Ti is the issue with the I/O Cover. I tried forcing it pretty hard and it does not want to budge. Seems like it just needs a tad bit more clearance to work. I am going to try a few things to get it in there. I like the look with it in, looks too basic with it out.

Keep in mind that the IO cover's holes are a little oversized, so if the fasteners are not fully snug you can adjust exactly where it sit, much like the holes for the MB standoffs, you can have some fully tight and some misaligned, it sounds like yours is sitting a bit low at the moment.  I ran Classies in 3x SLI with my IO Cover in place, and there was not a lot of wiggle room, but it did fit.
Honestly I don't bother with it now as it is solely cosmetic.  But I would try to loosen the screws for the cover slightly and see if you can slide the cover back up some and re-tighten it.
