Hi,

So I haven't had this issue before, and everywhere I've looked I can't seem to find an answer. The problem is that when I try installing Windows 7 Professional, I get an error at the Expanding Files part saying "Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation." It doesn't have an error code, just that text.

I got this copy of Windows 7 from Microsoft Dreamspark which I burned to two DVDs and put on my USB, all three still failing.
I reset my BIOS to 'Optimized Defaults'.
I tried two different drives. My old one (Samsung 830) and my new one (Samsung 850 Pro) both not working.

So I don't know what else to do.

Here are my specs:

EVGA x79 Dark (Rev 2.08)
Intel i7 3930k
EVGA 780 GTX
Corsair Vengeance 1866 MHz CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9 8 GB (2x4GB)
EVGA Supernova 850W G2

All help is appreciated.

Only an OEM/System Builder version will work. Other versions are tied to hardware and will not work.

The new download should work still. It's essentially just a free purchase of the product through my school.

Try a different SATA cable. I have run into this issue before and a defective SATA cable was the culprit.
