Hi guys

I just bought x79 dark and after i finished my installing tried to start it up but it doesnt.

I have a code something like 09 and no screen appears on my monitor.you can find the code in the attachment.and also there are some green leds flashing in the corner of my graphic card.should they stay solid or is flashing normal for them?

Kind regards

    problem is solved.

i put the ram sticks in a wrong ram slots.i could find it by trying one by one each ram in an order.

ı thought and read it on the manual book that tells the put them  in the order 1,3,5,7 so did i.

isnt the order for the ram sticks 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8 ?

if it is like that i put the first 2 sticks on the left side of the cpu and they were in 1 and 3th slots. Then i skipped the 4th one which is on the left side of the cpu and put the 3rd ram stick into the 5th ram slot which is the starting slot(first slot) of the ram slots on the right side of the cpu.

And that was the mistake i have done and realized while i awas trying them in an order.when i came to the 3rd ram stick ,this time i put it into the 6th ram slot which is the second slot of the ram slots on the right side of the cpu.then i skipped a 1 ram slot for the 4th ram stick and put it into the last ram slot. Then i could boot

    kind regards.

    What does 7by mean?
Have you read your Manuel or at least reviewed it?

Sorry the 7 char was a mistake.

There are two drivers about the bluetooth but when i install the latest one , windows ran into blu screen while booting and i revert it back to the system restore point to avoid blue screen and determined the bluetooth driver doing it.i installed all the drivers one by one and after each installation of drivers, i restarted the system to determine what driver causes the blue screen and finally could find out that is the bluetooth driver.

So then i installed the one which is published on 2012 and had some hang ups while logging in windows and read that issue from the users in this forum.i dont know if you guys know about installing bluetooth driver correctly ?

    Thanks in advance

After you have installed the cipset drivers, you would simply run the Bluetooth installer.  >>  http://cdn.evga.com/driver/qualcomm_wifi_10.0.0.270_bluetooth_8.0.1.308.exe

Unfortunately my board is the one doesnt come with bluetooth key.

But i dont care,i just thought it already has it but really doesnt matter for me.

Another question is that ,i tried external 2 usb 3.0 io ports and it generally gives me an error like power surge bla bla .i repaired the asmedia drivers by installing them again and it worked but the moment i discoonected it and reconnected the sandisk extreme usb 3.0 again ,it started not working again.

One tip ,i didnt coonect the 6 pin power connector that is located on left bottom corner of the board,is the usb issue i mentioned above related to the 6 pin connector?

Should the 6 pin power connector plugged in for the external io usb 3.0 ports to make them work properly?

    Thx in advance

Install the Base Drivers that came on the DVD you can update the drivers later but you need the base installed.
USB 3.0 Drivers are installed after the OS and the Base Drivers are install and you will find them on the DVD as well.
If you have one Graphics Card then no.

Yeah, that 6 pin molex connector is for additional PCIE power for multiple graphics cards - helps with stability supposedly, but I am fine with two 780 Ti's without it connected.

I plugged the 6pin power connrctor in but no luck.

I saw its working like 3 times

And also i saw just one of the 2 is working ,the left one.the one on the right never worked up untill now.

It worked when i repaired by re-installing the usb 3.0 drivers.

The other two were random,i just plugged it in and it worked but when i plug it into the second externel usb 3.port the one on the right it directly give the error that is about power surge.

At this time i realized something.i left it plugged in ,in the second port which never worked and gives the error power surge and booted with acronis recovery usb.i cpuld see it in acronis recovery manager and cpuld restore some files from it.that was strange.if the port was broken i could never have been done it but it only doesnt wprk in windows.that means the board does have the necessary power to feed my sandisk extreme.

I also uninstalled aedia 3.0 drivers and uninstalled the controllers in the device manager one by one (there was 3 of them)

And restarted the pc after that i installed the drivers downloaded from internet as asmedia 3.0 v1.61 something like that but no luck.then i updated the asmedia comteollers by right clicking on them and it downloaded and updated itself like saying asmedia 3.0 controller microsoft bla bla.But it still doesnt work. :((

Remember that you also will need to set the Bios for 6 Pin Power as shown below (If you have it Plugged into the Motherboard).
Click on Image for Larger View*

    * For us old folks who can no longer read the Small Print.

Do not have any USB Devices Plugged in other than the KB & Mouse until all your drivers are installed and you have no Yellow in your Device Manger. Then play around with your USB Ports.
I have never seen a "power surge" error on my X79 Dark Motherboard and this is my everyday rig.

START OFF WITH THE DVD THAT CAME WITH YOUR MOTHERBOARD BEFORE YOU START DOWNLOADING DRIVERS.

I saw that config in bios but and also understood that it is about the graphic card power need and where it will be drain.so i left it on 24 pin.

And there is no yellow in my device manager.

If the ports was broken ,shouldnt it be not working in the acronis recovery manager as well? i mean it is all up to the windows now isnt it?

And not completely tried but , i tried disabling usb 3 headers in bios and went into windows then restarted the machine (by the way the usb is plugged in the left port which seems working under windows) and enabled the usb 3.0 headers in bios then got back into the windows ,usb was already detected.then i took it off ,plugged in to the ports which are on the motherboard and they also worked i mean they were already working. Then i plugged it into the other usb header which never worked,it of course didnt work :) i will give a try in the evening when i got back home from work.

    My sustem specs are as follows;

    Cpu : i7 3930k

Motherboard : Evga X79 Dark (the one doesnt have bluetooth or evbot)

    Ram : 4×4gb 16gb Corsair Vengeance low profile 1600mhz cl9

    Psu : thermaltake 875watt xt

Vga : Msi Gtx 770 2gb gaming oc

Sound card : creative x-fi titanium

Usb 2.0 headers are working without any problem.the one connects to motherboard and gives 4 additional usb 2.0 ports. They are all working flawless.

2 usb 3.0 western digital external hdd always connected and 1 usb 2.0 wd external hdd also connected. And the rest are keyboard and mouse connected usb 2.0 ports and roccat kave 5.1 usb power connected usb 2.0 port.

I have no problems on usb 2.0 ports including the external ones ,headers the ones connected directly motherboard. And also i have no problem on rear usb 3.0 ports they are working perfect.

I just have problem with the usb 3.0 additional 2 ports connected to the motherboard.i never got working one of them and the other one works sometimes.

I could get it worked by reparing the usb 3.0 drivers while installing them again.and sometimes got it worked when i did a restart but at the moment i unplugged it it never worked again until i restart the system..i am afraid removing it once it worked.

Do they work after Windows is loaded?  Or just don't work if the device is plugged into one of those ports during boot up?

Have you checked the connections at each end of the USB 3.0 cables from the front case I/O panel to the motherboard header connection?

In the BIOS there are three USB 3.0 enable/disable settings.  Two for the rear ports and one for the front header port.  They're in the "Onboard Device Configuration" under the "Advanced" tab.  Are they all enabled?

After watching your video, I would get a new USB 3.0 connector cable.  It's either that or the connector on the mobo itself.  My hunch though is that cable you're using.

    here is an update

i had another board gigabyte 990xa ud3 and tried the usb 3.0 bracket on it and it worked fine.all of the 2 ports on it worked fine.but as i said one of the ports still doesnt work on evga mobo.so something must be wrong with the usb 3.0 socket on evga mobo
