All:

I recently built my new machine around a Dark.  Everything was fine until I had it baselined the way I wanted it, including apps and migration of my settings and files from my old Windows 7 box.  Specs:

-  X79 Dark (BIOS version 2.07 - I have no upgraded to 2.09 yet because I'm very cautious about changing the BIOS right now)
-  Seasonic SS-760P2 PS (760W - I'm not doing SLI)
-  EVGA O2G-P4-2774-KR GeForce GTX 770
-  i7-4930k
-  G.SKILL Ares Series 32GB (DDR3 1866)
-  Crucial M500 960GB SSD (on the Intel header but in AHCI mode)
-  Pioneer Blu Ray burner (on the Intel header in AHCI mode - won't work on the Marvell headers)
-  4x 1TB Seagate spindle drives in RAID-10 (on the Intel headers)
-  Windows 7 64-bit edition
-  Razer Black Widow Ultimate 2013
-  Logitech G600 mouse

Everything worked perfectly while I was using a generic keyboard and mouse during installation of Windows 7.  When I switched over to my G600 and Razer, various really bad things happen when the Razer keyboard is connected.  It has 2x USB 2.0 connectors (one is presumably for the built in single port hub it has.)  If I plug the Razer into a USB 2.0 port, it will not boot.  In fact, the motherboard goes into an immediate (1/2 second) shutdown which can only be cleared by removing power.  Plugged into the USB 3.0 ports it works...sometimes.  I can't find a good pattern for what happens with it, but this combination of keyboard and mouse worked on my dual Xeon 5400 series box for the last 12 months.  I'm even typing on it right now on the Dark.  It works sometimes and when it works it works fine, but it never works when it's connected to the USB 2.0 ports.  I haven't tried every combination of ports.

This leads to an interesting other discussion though.  Which USB ports are associated with which USB hubs?  It appears that header 2 on the motherboard is associated with USB host controller #2, while the back ports are associated with host controller #1.  The bluetooth controller is also on host controller #1.  The USB 3.0 controllers (ASMedia XHCI controllers) it looks like has 2 ports per controller in 3 separate controllers on 3 separate PCI-E devices, which is all fine for integrated stuff.

I would really appreciate it if anyone who has had similar issues might be able to point me in some direction to look.  I've been building my own machines for 25 years now and this rivals some of the problems I had with early Pentium machines and their PCI busses.  I've never seen anything like this.

Thank you in advance

@das_nietzschean I would recommend that you update your Bios to 2.13
    10-21-2014 BIOS 2.13 150-SE-E789 Win8/Win7/Vista/XP Download
    And the Chipset Software
    2-01-2016 Chipset Driver 10.1.2.10 150-SE-E789 Windows 7 64bit Download  View

If you have issues with USB then you may want it take a look at the below USB 3.0 Controller to use instead of the ASMedia one on the MB.
Inateck Superspeed 7 Ports PCI-E to USB 3.0 Expansion Card - Interface USB 3.0 5-Port & 2 Rear USB3.0 Port Express Card Desktop with 15 pin SATA Power Connector $27.99

Does your keyboard have a BIOS switch on it somewhere? My Corsair K70 has alternative BIOSes to try in case of an issue like this, but I don't really see on shown in the features for your Black Widow Ultimate. If it does, try on of the other BIOSes and see if that helps at all.

How'd you get the power supply to even work with your board? Which revision is your board?
