BSOD on boot, Windows 8 says "The BIOS isn't compatible with ACPI, Error Code 0xc0000225" for some reasons... Any ideas ? I tried switching to S3 for ACPI but I still have the same issue.

EDIT: Sorry it seems I disabled it for no reasons. :)

I'm not getting something here.  How were you able to boot before??  Nothing we changed should affect booting.  Is your Win8 OS 64bit or 32bit??

64 bit, I just disabled the ACPI by mistake I think. Now I get a BSOD and I don't have any chance of looking at the code, it's getting away so fast. I'm currently trying to film it lol.

EDIT: No error code is given.. FYI https://www.dropbox.com/s...0130612_163353_001.3gp

Ok.  I had you change only 5 things and the ram timings should be no issue so that leaves 4 items.  Starting with the last item, "HPET mode", change it back to 32bit and then reboot.  If you still bsod, go back in bios, change it back to 64bit, but this time change the "payload size" back to 128 and re-boot.  IF bsod, change it back to 4096 and go up the 3rd item, "turbo mode".  Enable it, re-boot.  If bsod, go back and disable it. Then enable vdroop, re-boot.

What we're doing here is going back 1 by 1 to see which is causing this bsod issue.

That was it, the 64 bit mode! I boot successfully. Strange...

Actually, was my fault haha. I put ACHI because I thought it was causing it (in the past, I've installed ACHI mode for Windows 8).

So my entire fault. Sorry.

On better news,

See attachement (currently 18h06 here)
And the temps are arround 65-71, so it's good for now (Maximum Setting)

Lol.  Ok.  If you pass the test with no errors, then up the Bclk to 186 and run the same test again.  5 runs at maximum.  Make sure you keep all other settings the same until you bsod or get stress testing errors.  If you pass 186, go up to 191 bclk.

That's great bud.  And what's your multi here?  It's showing your clock speed at 4.2ghz on your pic??

EDIT:  I have to know this before we move on to adjust for your 196 bclk.  If you're not using a multi of 20 like I asked, then things are a bit different.  A 191 bclk x a 20 multi should net you a 3.8ghz OC.  Not a 4.2 OC.

That all looks good in your template.  I wonder why IBT shows 4.2ghz.  Hmmm.  What does CPU-Z or EVGA E-leet show for your CPU clock speed??

Anyway, for your 196 bclk, up your vcore 2 ticks.  Should be 1.3875v and try the test again.  All we need to do is get to 201 bclk with a 20 multi and you'll have your 4.0ghz OC and ram at 1600mhz...  As always, keep an eye on your core temps.

Since you  proc 920 only supports speeds up 1066, you need to take care on your on your ram speeds, you may want to increase your voltage to your ram, try stock 1.5 you should not go past 1.65v.

If you look at his bios template, you'll see his Dimm voltage is at 1.5v which is his ram's voltage spec.  Also, that 1066 ram speed you mentioned is Intel's "official" supported speed.  However, his ram is rated at 1600mhz, so he is setup correctly here.

although his ram is rated at 1600, this would be officially considered an overclock for his cpu regardless.  It is something to look at when overclocking.

Yes, that's true it is considered Oc'ing the ram.  But I don't understand your point here?  Since the ram is rated at 1600 MHz at 1.5v with timing specs at 9,9,9,24, then I don't really see what you're saying here.  Now if he began exceeding the 1600mhz spec, then he may at some point need to begin increasing the Dimm voltage and/or relaxing the timings some.

It looks like his current ratio is right, however if the overclock pushes the ram higher than 1600, it may cause some stability issues with this proc. As long as it is fine at 1600 and doesn't go higher like 1886 or 2000, he shouldn't have a problem running at 1600. To me some people seem to overlook how fast there ram is running at once they start to overclock fsb.

Apparently you didn't bother to read his thread or even the past several posts.  His goal is a 201 Bclk with a 20 multi which will land his ram speed at exactly 1600mhz.

BSOD : Clock_Watchdog_Timeout on Windows 8..

:) thanks

Try this instead.  Put your Bclk to 193 instead and leave your vcore at 1.3875v.  Let's see if it'll pass there.

If 193 don't pass, up vcore 1 more tick.  If it does, raise bclk to 197 and up vcore 1 more tick.  If 197 don't pass, up vcore 1 more tick.  Post back your results and I'll look at them tomorrow.  GL bud...

Watch your temps.
