Hi everyone,

With the imminent release of Windows 10 in July I was wondering if this motherboard (X58 SLI E758) will have Windows 10 drivers released? I was planning on trying out a preview build but I couldn't get any solid answers on where to get drivers. Thanks for any help!

PSU: Corsair 650TX
CPU: Intel i7 920 @3.5Ghz
MOBO: EVGA x58 SLI 132-BL-E758
GPU: MSI GTX 970
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 12GB (4Gbx3)
OS: Windows 8.1 x64

You can download the latest drivers from www.station-drivers.com if you know what you're looking for.

Thanks for the link, doesn't seem they carry any X58 E758 Drivers though unless I'm searching incorrectly.

Anyone upgrade to Win 10 with the x58 Mobos? Curious how driver support will work since I still don't see any on EVGA's website.

I've seen a few people running win 10 on their x58 boards and they say the win 8.1 drivers also work with win 10.

Can confirm, Win 8.1 drivers work fine on my X58 under Windows 10. YMMV, naturally, but that's been my experience.

That's not good to hear. I just started the upgrade on my dual-boot X58 machine - from the taskbar...

    ... and all went well.

I had the PC configured to boot into Windows 7 by default, Windows 8.1 (via upgrade from 8.0) if I interrupted the default and selected it.  Once the Windows 10 upgrade of Windows 8.1 completed, the PC boots by default into Windows 10.  I have to interrupt the process and select Win7 if that's what I want.

More interesting is that, if I select Windows 7 at boot, the PC does an entire reboot instead of launching Windows 7.  It appears to pre-load much of Windows 10 before giving me the choice of Operating Systems.

If it hangs at the taskbar (like mine did) , just close it out . Then go to Windows Update as if you were checking for new updates and start from there . Make sure you go into the settings and turn off all the options that send your info back to Microsoft & don't share your wi-fi ! Also turn off let Windows install the drivers for me .

I have performed an upgrade from Windows 7 SP 1 to Windows 10, but had to format the drive after due to some drive errors but thats not MS fault, BUT I would like to be able to do a full install at some point in the future and I am currently unable to do that with the Windows 10 ISO downloaded through the Microsoft Media Creation Tool.  When I try to do a clean install of windows 10 with the Media Creation Tool ISO burned to a DVD I get an error that says I am missing a Media Driver that might be for HD, USB or DVD and its unable to continue.

I have thought about calling EVGA tech support and seeing if they can help but since my board is like 7 years old its possible they can't.

Microsoft makes default Sata AHCI drivers so I am not sure what the install disc is looking for.

Cboath11, try updating the firmware on your dvd drive, and try again,
had the same error, and it fixed the problem, not sure if it will work for you but worth a shot

I run a triple OS boot on a X58 e760 (Win 7 HD, Win 7 Samsung SSD and Win 8.1(now Win10) Corsair SSD)
Windows 10 only reboots from the Boot Manager (into Win 7) if that is the OS you boot INTO and -shutdown- with.
--->-Restart- from Win 10 to Win 7 and then -shut down- from Win 7
Problem solved and booting into Win 7 is now native from the Boot Manager and it will not need to restart

    *Note
I prepared for my Win 8.1 upgrade to Win 10 Pro expecting the worst...
I can report that it went perfectly without ANY secondary driver installs of anykind -except- for my 2005 X-Fi card.
Manually searching for a Creative x-Fi driver was successful and my Windows 10 is running perfectly on my X58 e760 SLI system

While the multitasking gains are still present in Windows 10 (as in Win 8.1) I am still using Windows 7 as my primary OS.
My Windows 10 install is only to gain familiarity with it for down the road when it is likely to become mandatory

I started testing Win10 on my E770 as an insider at beginning of the with TP2.  The only issue I've run into so far is that the Marvel driver seems to work but the Intel SSD Toolbox has never been able to update firmware on Intel SSDs connected to the Marvell connection, and the Crucial SSD app does not even see any drive connected to the Marvell.

In Win10, the Marvell device is listed as an "other" device, stating that it is working properly, but showing no driver info.

I avoid the Marvel bits of this motherboard like the plague. That said I've had mixed results similar to yours when installing SSDs. Some mfr utilities don't work at all. And some won't see an SSD connected through USB - SATA only. But I've gotten them working - again, not on the Marvel controllers, however.

Interesting.  Both of my SSDs are on the Marvel controller ports, and the Crucial is my one and only system drive.

I haven't really tested performance, but just thinking about it they are definitely faster on data transfer than my Mechanical drives or even my USB3 UFDs.

Once I get the drivers updated per this thread, I'll benchmark.

Eh, the Marvell 9128 isn't so great of a sata 3 controller, it has higher latency and worse 4K Reads/Writes than the ICH10R sata 2 ports. So SSD's will perform better on the native ports.
