With all the new pci 2.0 3.0 cards which ones would work the best in this machine ? X-58 FTW 3 ,920 DO ,12 gb ram, windows 7 , 240 gb SSD, with 1200 watt psu. I have a gtx-295 plus video card now and am wondering how high on the list I can go ? I want to at least double my gpu if not more. with @ least 4gb ram in card. No AMD products please.

I'm pretty sure all the X58 boards supports running a PCI-E 3.0 graphics card.

I was running my GeForce GTX 780ti (card is PCI-E 3.0) on an X58 Classified E760 motherboard,
and it was running just fine, so any new graphics cards should work on your board too.

The GeForce 780ti can be compared to the newer GeForce GTX 970 in terms of performance as they perform pretty much the same, so your board should support at-least a 970, which will be a massive improvement over your current GTX 295.

I currently have an x5670 at 4.0GHz and SLI GTX 770 4GB.  With that 920, you may bottleneck your GPU a bit unless you want to OC or look into a Xeon CPU (they're like $50 on Fleabay).  I was running a 940 with my 770 and it seemed to hold up...but just barely.  So my advice:
    - Check to see if you're mobo is compatible with Xeons (be sure to check Rev number)
    - Get 970/770 4GB and have fun

Have had this 920 up to 4.4 GHz stable but usually run it @ 4.2 just to let it have a breath of air. need to get a water cooled cooler for the cpu. THX dave !!
