Hello,
Currently running 2x Titan X's, do you all think it is worth it selling my cards and getting two of these? or just stay with  my Titans? I do heavy gaming on them now and expect to do so with the new ones if I do get them, Appreciate the input. Thanks.

Stick with the 2 titans, wait for the 1080 "Ti" to come later if you wish to upgrade.

So I assuming all the talk about the 1080 being faster than a titan X is nonsense? why would they release that on paper?

The question is though, in SLI, what are we looking at while running 2 Titans VS running only one 1080?

Definitely wait for 1080ti, or at least until aftermarket cooling comes out for the 1080. Really best to hold off from initial releases if you can. I'll personally be waiting for an EVGA 1080ti hybrid hehe

It's faster but probably not by a whole lot. We'll know more when SLI benchmarks come out. Dual Titan X's are fine with 4K, so in my opinion it would be more worthwhile waiting for the 1080 Ti.

A single 1080 @ stock clocks gets 90 fps in rise of the tomb raider @ 1440p. I have to run two of my Titan X's in SLI to get 100 fps @ the same resolution and settings. Both my Titan X's were at stock as well.

From what I've seen, you should wait unless you want a ~20% single card performance gain.  I really hate how most of the reviews compare an OC'ed 1080 to non-OC'ed other cards.  My 980 Ti's in SLI get 40,358 in 3DMark Fire Strike.  A single 1080 could never dream of getting even close to that.  Hence, if you're going from an SLI setup of GM200, you WILL need 1080s in SLI for it to be considered an upgrade.  However, if you're like me and want an EVGA hybrid version of the next card you get, that'll probably cost you $700 per card.  Do you really want to spend over $1400 on a marginal upgrade?  Or would you rather wait for GP100 on a Geforce graphics card and drop a little over $2000 for a pair of "Pascal Titans" for a (most likely) significant performance gain (plus HBM2 and a lot more VRAM)?  That's pretty much what it comes down to.  However, if you must have the absolute best at any given point in time and money is not an issue, upgrading to 1080 will be a performance upgrade.  It just won't be a "Titan-like" upgrade.

With two Titan X cards, i would rather just wait for "Big Pascal" (1080ti) that is coming out later this year.
It will feature HBM memory (possibly 16GB), and be much more worth the upgrade than the regular 1080 is.

Honestly the performance increase is amazing and gives you a way better experience in DX12 over 30-38% increase in DX12. But I would wait for the GTX 1080 TI I am guessing it will come sometime after OCT with HBM2. But if you do wait, your Titan X's are going to only sell for about 300 bucks... up to you, hard choice, I would probably try to get rid of them while the getting is good.

If the GTX 1070 out performs it, at the 375 msrp, you wont even be able to get that.

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

Yeah that's the problem if you buy 2 titan pascals for 3k then 12-18 months later volta x80 comes out for $600 you will only get 300-400 for the once mighty titan pascal lol. 2k for 2x 1080 ti's then they go for 300 after volta x80 comes out the lose wont but as much.

To be honest, people are better off selling their Titan X now than later. Those who took advantage of getting the Fury should be happy since they have HBM in them.

You bet, if not i just go get the 1070 a gpu worth $400 that can still beat the TitanX, running DX12 like it should.

again I would wait period until the big dog if that what you want

You bet, if not i just go get the 1070 a gpu worth $400 that can still beat the TitanX, running DX12 like it should.

Not pretty at all. It's missing the trolling parts.

I'm in the "waiting for Pascal version of Titan" line. Not much sense in shedding good cards/performance just because something new is about to hatch.

Honestly, I don't think we will see a "TI" variant of the 1080 this year.  As of right now, AMD won't be releasing anything more powerful than the Fury X until at least Q1 2017 (maybe Q4 2016 if they can get the yields they want).  There will always be something to wait for.  I could say wait until the 1180 or the x80 or whatever they want to call the next GPU series before upgrading.  I think you have to look at it this way, the benchmarks show that the 1080 is faster than the Titan X and 980Ti.  If you have the funds and you want to upgrade then go for it.  If you have cards that didn't fair so well in the silicon lottery and can't overclock all that well (case in point my previous 980ti's) then maybe you would want to get a 1080 again assuming you have the funds.  Like I mentioned in a few other threads, I am grabbing one for my second gaming rig to replace the 980 FTW I sold off on Ebay.  After I do some testing, if I like its performance, I will grab a second and move the 1080 SLI to my main rig and move my TI's.  At the very least, wait for the other board partners to come out with their variants as I think we are going to see some really interesting benchmarks at that time.
