How do I get the WCG Team widget to show in my forum Sig?

Also, AB,
How do I get your neato sig in mine?

I use this...

http://dcstat.com/

You can customize it any wording and color you want... Just make sure you save the link (URL) once you get it... Otherwise you have to start over

Is there a way to use all 8 cores (or12) on one project to complete it faster instead of 8 individual projects?

Yes... Go to "Device profiles" (You need to be logged into your WCG online) and edit each computer. You can identify each computer as an individual name and project(s)...

If you mean all cores on one project, yes, do what AB showed.
If you mean all cores on one work unit, no, they don't have any SMP clients that I know of.

Good work Punchy.. I had to take a call and forgot to offer that as the alternative (As I think that is what Tank is asking)

Hey AB!  I was wondering, for a slightly more "refined look" if we might be able to modify this Widget somehow to work for sigs instead of websites:   https://secure.worldcommu...rg/ms/viewGetWidget.do

When you say pending... Are you talking about in the manager under the task tab? Like the pic below only you have a list showing ready or pending?

If so just select the project tab to the left of that tasks tab... Click (This highlights it) your name.. Then go to the left sidebar and select update... This will send them to the server in seconds... I do this all the time ... If not please let me know what you mean

Ignore my previous post. As I am on my first cup of coffee it took a moment to figure out what you meant

You are asking about the "Results Status" page I spoke on in another thread. These "Usually" process in about 24-48 hours. As mentioned... It is not unusual for them to take up to a week. And as you do more and more... That number in pending will increase. But I have not seen it take more than a weeks time. I go by the dates once we use the filter to specifically look at any of the option it provides in the drop down.

Basically I try and focus on these four and ignore pending...

  • Error
  • Invalid
  • Inconclusive
  • Late
And some of the rest are out of our control, but I look anyway. That said in three years I have only seen one not be valid and all the rest (Other than processed and Pending) to be blank...

Can you run WCG on CPU ,and FAH on GPU's at the same time on one machine? Would there be any conflicts between programs? Does anyone have any experience running it this way? Thanks.

Here is my experience with it...

As long as I set my CPU usage to 90% on my 920's it leaves one core/thread available to me. This removes all issues I did have running them on the same system. So it allows me to go all out with my GPU's and crunches on 7 of the eight cores/threads

See pic below... I change the one box called % of Processors...

I'm currently doing that right now 12 tasks on my 990X in WCG and 2X Fermi's GPU Client for TeamEVGA folding. No issues and no drags

I am currently folding 2 GPU on an old E7500 system, crunching smooth at 3.7GHz.  Have set up WCG to 100%/100% CPU and there is no affect on GPU PPD.

What I have found through experimentation is that the % of Processors setting steps with the number of cores.  So if you have four cores and want one free set it to 75%.  If you choose something like 80%, it will still only run 75%, so it's has a resolution equal to the number of processors.  Does this sound right?

Also, the % CPU time is odd because it just cycles the work on and off at a frequency approximating the % of total time.  So there are spikes of 100%.  I would just leave this at 100% and use the % of Processors setting to adjust free bandwidth for other apps (like CPU hogging IE).

From my experience so far it seems to be a little Quirk of the Manager. I believe that your system has already finished those and some otheres that seem to hang at 99.xx%. As one tasks finishes, it will move on and open the next. When you hit the Update as AB posted (if you have the list setup with % complete as order) you will notice that the lowest % task is already running and sometines has been for a while.

Also if you looka at task manager, you'll see everything moving along at 100%. I don't believe there's any Science downtime involved.

I have to go back to some old posts to remember why and how...

But in general NO! I believe once every 24 hours it will call out to the server to get more work... If I remember correctly this is why I changed the amount of work I wanted it to get at any time was two days... It will look once everyday and all your work gets downloaded at the same time...

I cannot remember why... But I think there is a setting to make it do it sooner, I just cannot remember if that was a "Want" or a "Function"
