New cumulative updates for Windows 7 will swell to 500MB a month, Microsoft acknowledges.   Link

The article did not mention that updates commonly replace older apps or files and replaces them.

I think it refers to people with lower bandwidth.

Windows 7 should have been the last operating system to have been made.

-1 disagree. You can't stagnate technology

True, but I don't mean it literally. Windows 10 would be great if they would just pull their head out of the sand.

Microsoft had to go to an advertising based system, they don't make as much money from OS upgrades and Office Purchases anymore. It's how the future works, making money with advertisement

If that's the kind of future in store for Windows, then that's a future I don't want. Time to turn updates all the way off. I will sandbox or be extra careful. Windows 7 was perfectly fine.

To me, the math is simple; They had to resort to advertising because no one wants to buy Windows 10 because it sucks.
