Windows 10 new or upgrade?

I'm building a new rig and will use win 10. Should I install win 7 and upgrade or pay for win 10 pro and do a clean install? I'd rather do a clean install but it costs $200. Upgrade is free.

    I would go with free and just deal with the transition kinks.

    If you upgrade from 7, you can do a fresh install.
    Hit Windows key and type "reset"

    I'm actually not sure, can you install Windows 7 through UEFI?

    Download the Win10 iso from Microsoft, burn and install.  Use your Windows 7 key to activate. I just finished doing this because I wanted a clean install as well.

    I installed Win 10 on top of  / activated / did clean reinstall ---all from ISO on a USB thumb drive.
     
    Note: Remove all other HD from the system, MS likes to own your system - and will span some of the files -- when you later remove one of the non-boot drves -- Windows will fail to load---- NICE

    I bought Gears of war ultimate edition and could not download got a message saying something went wrong try again later, anyway got microsoft tech online he did a remote check found the problem. I had build 1024,, and you need build 1511, worked great after he got me started on the upgrade and I finished it. I thought when you hit check for updates on your computer it puts the latest like win 7 sp1 etc. I forgot where he went to get the build 1511 though. boy is my comuter more responsive now also. glad I got the tech guy online.

    You can also search for a legitimate Windows 10 key in various web and retail store.
