Should I optimize my new ssd in win 10 or just leave all settings like prefetch and indexing alone?

I use the Samsung Magician software that came with the SSD and it disables those items.  Not sure how much of a difference it makes doing certain things, but no issue's here this way...

yikes,  you just reminded me I never looked into all the SSD tweaks from win 7  because I was too busy dealing with 'beta-ing' on win 10 .... ...and wasn't sure if i was keeping 10 on it& now I've forgot.

Gonna have to look into this some more now.

you dont need to do anything  in windows 10 for  optimization as windows 10 is already optimized for SSds   same  was the case for windows 8.1

I wish I could use it but it does not work with windows 10. Patiently waiting for an updated version from Samsung.

The performance optimization doesn't work & isn't needed for Win8 or above.  I thought you were referring to OS optimization?  Version 4.6 is what I'm using and I use that to set things up like to disable Indexing and Prefetch etc...  This is with Win10.

    Hello,

In my experiencing the things that definitely help with SSD performance is making your minimum and maximum CPU usage a 100% in windows power settings. Im pretty sure that TRIM is enabled by default on windows versions 8+

Windows 10 was optimized for all new hardware to include SSDs and also the new M.2 SSD. The only thing I might advise is to use the SSD software that Samsung recommends for their SSDs once it's Windows 10 ready.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA
