Is anyone else having issues trying to install the latest driver on Windows 10? I upgraded just fine, but decided to go with the embedded option of "resetting and cleaning" the drive (SSD) for a clean install. Post clean install, I keep getting error messages stating that the OS does not recognize my card or driver. Under device manager, it shows up as GTX 970, but I can't install the latest driver or any driver! Any way to fix this? I can't even install the Nvidia's Geforce Experience application... Perhaps I need to do a clean install via USB thumb drive and not within Windows 10.

Any help would be much appreciated. I'm at work, so I have no screenshots to show, unfortunately. :/

    Do not know if it would help in your situation, but I couldn't install the latest driver either and Windows didn't recognize my card to get one either.  I downloaded the W10 driver from NVIDIA again, ran DDU in safe mode and then rebooted.  At that point W10 recognized my card and I was also able to run the install from the download I had performed.   W10 wanted to install the driver anyway and kept failing (as it was already there).  I ran the Microsoft update readiness tool to clean up installs (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-is-the-System-Update-Readiness-Tool) and it cleared up that issue as well.  Everything else has done incredibly well.

    You can try either or both of those.  Again, may or may not help you, but it worked for me.

    Thanks! I'll try the DDU in safe mode later tonight when I'm home. Just to be sure, DDU is Display Driver Uninstaller, correct? I'm hoping this works because "something" is installed and apparently it's the correct driver, but I didn't do it. Maybe it's Win10's auto update causing the issue? Hmm...

    I had a similar issue when installing 10 on my laptop with a 765M GPU. The Nvidia installer wouldn't detect the card no matter what I did in Windows.
    I went into the BIOS and noticed my GPU was set to "Auto", so I changed it to "Dedicated" instead, and the installer found the GPU just fine after that.

    When I checked my "device manager," I did notice that Intel's GPU was listed as well. Could this be the one causing the issue? I'll also try the dedicated option in my bios when I get home. Thanks again for the replies, guys! ^^;;

    That sounds like how it was with my laptop. Only the Intel GPU was showing in Device Manager>Display Adapters until I changed the BIOS option.

    You think I should uninstall the Intel GPU too?

    If you can enable the dedicated card in the BIOS, I'd try that first without disabling the Intel GPU. The system should disable for you automatically.

    The Windows Troubleshooting panel has become my new friend.  Several other things haven't updated today but running that from inside the OS and using the Fix Problems with Windows Update under System and Security has been helpful.

    The DDU route worked! I guess the issue was Win10 automatically installing a driver before I could apply the one directly from Nvidia. Thanks for all your help, guys!
