For sake of discussion there are 2 licenses that come with Windows. OEM and Full Retail. One, OEM, is tied to the machine it is installed on. A one and done situation. The other, Full Retail, can be moved to another machine as long as proper procedures are followed. With this being said I am curious if the licenses will reflect this if upgrading. An OEM license to an OEM license and a Full Retail to a Full Retail.

Yes, this should occur automatically as the OEM licenses are different than the retail keys. Basically the first couple of entries of the license key determine the effective license itself and should upgrade accordingly.
