So I ran the bios update for my 1070 model 6171. Got the right file, loaded it up, hit Y, it beeped and said done then closed the command prompt. I made the mistake of not clicking the restart button but I clicked the shutdown button and have fastboot enabled. Every since then, when I try to use fastboot, I lose the signal from my 1070 during windows bootup and then I have to do a hard shutdown. Doing a cold boot works and doesnt cause the issue, but every time I shutdown properly for a fastboot, i get this black screen.

I ran the bios update again, ran as admin, and this time did a proper restart but it still doesnt work. Anybody else having this issue or know how to fix it cause I really need fastboot to work on my system and this sucks!

Well I actually reinstalled the nvidia drivers using "clean installation" and since I did it may have fixed the issue. I have had several successful fastboots since doing this and before it was failing everytime so maybe its fixed. I will put in a ticket if it starts happening again but I would still like to know if anyone else has ran into this issue.

Generally you need to either disable the devise in DM or uninstall drivers and flash before restarting with 9 and 10 series GPUs.

Glad to hear you were able to resolve on your own though.

That makes since and I THINK that the bios update may have disabled the device because the screen flashed and then flashed again after the update but I dunno. Seems to be working ok now.

One thing I am curious about though is what the new fan curve is. I just ran Witcher 3 and it was 65 degrees at about 38% fan. Is this correct? Just want to ensure it is cooling correct as it was designed too. Thx
