Depends on your 12v rails, but it is most likely okay.  I will be powering a GTX 480 and a GTX 260 ppu with a 750 watt psu that has four 12v rails rated at 18 amps each.

To be honest, I wouldn't count on it. If you are even able to run that setup, i highly doubt you will be able to overclock anything.

It'll run if you have a quality PSU. If it's less than top tier 750W it'll likely have issues. You'll be near capacity too so no OC and I wouldn't expect the PSU to last as long.

Does a dedicated ppu ever reach max power draw?  The 750 psu is more then enough to power 480gtx and I figured a 280gtx as a ppu wouldn't stress the psu very much.

I think it'll run that setup just fine as long as it's a quality PSU with enough current on the +12Volt rail.

The GTX480+system should probably draw about 500 Watts under load. If you do mild overclocks you will probably draw about 550 or so. Are you using a Socket 1366 or 1156 system. If you're using the lower-power 1156-based system, the power draw of the GTX480 + system will probably be closer to 450 Watts.

Add in about 150 Watts for the GTX280 under PPU load, it looks like you'll be just fine. Just don't try to run Folding@home on the system, because that would put your PSU under 90-100% load for extended periods of time.
