I got 2 6900's either last night or this morning. After getting several reg. smp's. Might be a hit or miss thing for a while

Just got a 6900 after ~2 days of nothing but SMP, the last -bigadv. unit I got was on the 27th, completed on the 28th. 

three bigadv machines, zero bigadv crunching. Although some of the new smps generate a decent PPD on the bigger machines. 

had a 6900 a few days back .. then picked up a couple of SMP units now i just picked up another 6900 ... hopefully the move is completed and things can work themselves out again with them

18% on my latest 6900! Weird how this is the only -bigadv. unit I've been getting on this machine. None of those 26xx ones.

Lots of -bigadv (BA) folders are experiencing a "shortage" of BA work units (wu), not just on our team. I asked Dr. Pande to please clarify the reason for this since there was a suggestion that Pande Group (PG) was "holding back" on BA wu. this is a direct quote of our communications.

On the topic of BA availability... Is the current problems getting the units an intentional move, or is it just due to the server changes Dr. Kasson mentioned in this thread ( http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=19906&sid=bd355dbd30e31203907a24e2f3789924#p198054 ) and possibly a few extra people doing BA work for a small competition we've been running the last couple of weeks ( http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=1252785 )? In general, donors would probably be ok with PG imposing a hold on BA units, but they need to be informed ahead of time that it is happening.

We haven't changed anything, but the BA servers are pretty overloaded, so this may be the result of that overloading (when a WS gets overloaded, the AS falls back to less loaded servers).

So, any lack of BA wu on a BA rig right now are due to an abnormally high load on the servers. That leads me to believe that people switching to BA for TZC that had not done them before has put the extra load on the servers. Also, as I had posted earlier in this thread, Dr. Kasson (BA researcher) has said that there are some things being done with the servers that could affect BA wu availablility.
 
With the TZC and the server work coming to an end in the next few days, I think we will see things go back to normal. Please be patient in the meantime. Thanks.

Given that Kendrak at [H] said yesterday "Bigadv will be heading back to what it was ment to be.  We are hopefuly putting the final stamp on a fix now. I hope to anounce something by early next week."
I hope you (rj) are also involved in whatever this big announcement might bring.

Speculation is rampant. However, it may not be far off the mark. Please don't make any changes until a decision is made by PG and an announcement is made. Yes, I have been involved in the discussion and I have to say I am pleased with the current complete solution (multiple changes, not just 1) to try to keep everybody happy. My DAB thread is now up and you have free reign to let me have it (please be gentle).

Almost forgot. I did mention in the DAB thread, and will mention it here too. We are looking to make a public announcement about any changes in plenty of time to allow donors to make their decisions on whether they will change their strategies and make them prior to implemeting the changes. (I am hoping for about a month lead in time)
