That´s a unicore/single core wu. With your changes now you´ll get an smp wu next, but you won´t make the deadline for bigadv with -smp 4

You're still folding the same wu you had before, which is ok just let it run for now. It will grab the proper core next time. You can't run -bigadv on 4 cores. You won't return the units by the deadlines. At least 7 cores around 3.7-3.8Ghz to be sure. If you only wan't to run 4 cores, just use -smp and drop the -bigadv. EDIT: beat me to it barbarossa.. it's luchtime here at work, so all the bandwith is being sucked dry! Too slow to respond quickly..lol

It looks like it's working just don't know why the cpu % is that low?

what about 4 core but at 5ghz? I´m sure they will handle that bigadv

because that wu is only using one core. Don´t worry , with the flags you have set now it will download a proper wu next

SO do I replace the 4 with a 8 in the target line?

Well I have the 2 470's going & I thought about puting my 260 in for folding too & why not 8 I have 8 cores?!

Because your gpus are taking away too many cpu cycles. Running -smp 7 leaves one core free for them and actually speeds it up. Depending on how many gpus I have in a rig I´m running -smp 7 or even -smp 6. The only ones I´m using all cores for smp folding are my dedicated bigadv rigs. The 400 series cards and the current wus just slow down bigadv more than I can make up with the gpus. (Or at least so much that the additional draw doesn´t justify the little extra ppd)

a CPU at 100% load won´t have enought power left to feed those 470s + a 260.... for that its better a 980 with 12 "cores"

So I should put 6 or 7? And this is so but that's ok!

Hey SBB. If you've never folded SMP clients before, you should really consider running just -smp for now, as you need 10 completed wu's at an 80% completion rate before you are eligible to receive bonus points for anything. You'll get the 10 under your belt faster that way. Your machine should really be a dedicated folder if you want to run -bigadv. Especially running 2 fermi cards in you rig too. EDIT: with two 460's, suggest -smp 6 (just to make sure you'll be completely stable.. what's your cpu OC?)

well, his 930 is clocked at 4.0ghz, SBB should give it a try a those speeds with SMP-7 and the two 470s not the 260 :) second, do you wanna know if you made the first 10 SPM WUs? I found this easy way to check that: enter here: http://fah-web.stanford.e...in.py?qtype=userstats, put your passkey in the passkey slot and hit enter, there it should show you only WUs completed with passkey, once it says 10, you´re done :)

Glad to see that you got this up and running. Play around with -smp 6 or 7 seeing which will yield the best ppd for the gpu's. Run 24hrs of each to see which works best. Personally I think that -smp 7 should be enough. Congrats and... FOLD ON! z3r0

Hey [WD] I just found this in your sig & using it now! Is it any good & does everything look good? " New to Fold@home? Now it´s easier with the GPU Tracker! Click for more info!" http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=219556

You´re def running an smp wu , though no bigadv, but that could be related to the shortage. i don´t alwyays get one either

From your MODS: Motherboard EVGA X58 CPU Intel Core i7 920 D0 (SLBEJ) i7 920 Frequency: 4.2 GHz FSB / QPI: 200 MHz Multiplier: 21 x Stepping: 5 VCore: 1.375 v sigh..as is usually the case.. stable for testing or playing games is NOT the same for folding, especially SMP, unfortunately.. You should back it down to 4.0 and try again with 6 or 7 cores. An unstable machine can cause errors in the returned wu's.

That's what he's using now..see his earlier post..#46. The image shows the tracker program. GPU Tracker is great, but it can't fix base hardware instability for folding purposes. Wish that it could!! Just let it fix everything..lol.
