Hello everyone,

I can't seem to find a single review on the 1070 ftw card. Have you guys found any if not why do you think there is none thus far?

Yeah seems really strange there is no 1070 FTW review, there plenty on the SC model,

maybe because there is only a small step up from a SC? don't know.

But I had my 1070 FTW card for a few days now, its bloody great. still not OC it as of yet, still keeping to the default speed. but man what an upgrade from a 780 OC card.

got zero complaints so far, really quiet, cool as a cucumber (getting 31 c idle,, (using the second bios, so using the auto fan control, the fan RPM is 20% / 1070 (roughly) and can't hear the thing.

Overall, I'm really liking the card. so yeah, odd there isn't any reviews, but to me, the FTW card is a good choice.

this is the card I'm looking to get too, but need to read
some good reviews on it...  You'd think some would be
    out soon..

Well, I would put it this way, the SC variant has been getting good reviews, the FTW version is clocked a bit higher, has more power phases, and comes with a second bios.

but truth be told, there won't be a huge difference between models, you only be seeing 2 to 3 FPS between them, I seen a lot of reviews, while the MSI gamer X is usually at the top of the list, it is a big card, and to be honest, I think I would have had a lot of issues getting that monster in. but anyway, I would go for price and availability, and see which card / variant you can get hod of.

But I've been really happy with the FTW edition so far, so really, I would say, its the same quality as the SC version but just a bit higher clocked.

But yeah, I would like to see some FTW reviews, but in all honestly, I think many review sites would rate it the same as the SC edition. if you do go for the card, the FTW edition needs 2x8 PCIE connectors, so make sure you have them (or 2x6 and 2x2 connectors. both will work.

I just did a review on that card.
Got it a few days ago.
I think it's the first in depth review of this card on Youtube.

    Hope it helps.

Has anybody found a review from reputable sites similar to guru3d, Techpowerup, Anandtech, etc. for the GTX 1070 FTW?
I haven't been able to find a good review at all for this video card. I'd love to see things like how it performs vs other GTX 1070s, peak power consumption, temperatures, overclocking potential, etc. for this specific product.
I've seen a few video reviews, but they are very shallow...

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be any FTW reviews yet, which is both damn silly and strange if you ask me. (at least those that go in depth) maybe EVGA should contact a few sites and ask them to review the FTW?

Thanks, I'll check it out to compare since I already bought one.

*edit* 2,139MHz clock for all those tests? Must of gotten the best 1070 chip ever to stick at that during those benchmarks.

It seems to overclock on the same level of every other 1070. Guess we'll have to wait for a custom bios to see if it can deliver a little more performance (some additional voltage/heat should be manageable with its 10+2 power phase and a custom fan profile).

So i said is false marketing by EVGA, it sells a VGA fully prepared to overclock but with a standard BIOS without any possibility of overclocking, should review the concepts to use bios reference in personalized plates.

Their OC results showed XOC with a Power Target of only 112%, so they apparently didn't switch over to slave BIOS, which should allow 122% Power Limit?

You'll never even hit 100% power limit on these 1070 cards. I mean they come with 2x 8 pin adapters. Many high end 1080's only come with 1 8 pin and a 6 pin.

Would like to see one adjusting everything. Not just an 'it haz LED's' review...

my sc only has 112% so I am interested in seeing the FTW perform at it's highest clock speed. I would like to upgrade to a ti version when/if they come out. Do they make ti FTW's? Either way, with voltage adjustments on my SC it's slightly better, so I don't see there being a huge difference jumping to the 70 series FTW's based off the 80 series reviews I have seen adjusting the clock and voltages. If it gets past 2150, then job well done... anything below that is meh.

Also, Jayztwocents did a review covering PXOC, which can be easily translated to fellow Afterburner users and also any 10 series gpu's as well. If you have not seen it, look it up. I believe he is using the 1080 FTW.

I think being stable at~ 2150 is probably in the top 5% of gpu frequency lottery winners. 2140 mhz is no where near meh, not exactly sure what you're expecting as core clocks in like the 1600-1700mhz range. As I said the 112% doesn't matter because you won't hit anywhere near it. Its basically a gimmick on 1070's IMHO

So unless we get voltage modding, the 1070 FTW is just totally over-engineered? Starting to feel a tad bit of buyer's remorse for the card I haven't even got delivered yet. lol

As I said the 112% doesn't matter because you won't hit anywhere near it. Its basically a gimmick on 1070's IMHO

So unless we get voltage modding, the 1070 FTW is just totally over-engineered? Starting to feel a tad bit of buyer's remorse for the card I haven't even got delivered yet. lol

Better over than under! :) It works great and stays very cool, plus extra vrm smooth out power delivery. But yeah seems with pascal that its so efficient that the multiple models of cards this time around, doesn't really matter as much than in the past. Which may not be a bad thing, maybe companies will have to slightly modify their line ups heading in to the future, who knows. But thats my opinion. And I wouldn't have any remorse unless you wanted to spend another $300 on a 1080, you can still step-up! EVGA is amazing for allowing that, no on else does.
