Damn you Dell and Samsung (and to a lesser extent AOC) for not releasing those WQHD 34" 21:9 monitors! I've been patiently waiting to drop $1300 on one of these curved bad boys and none are being released as expected. Hell, I can't even find updated release info! Just more and more delays.

And I will NOT bother with the LG unit. Have you seen the back-light bleed issue reviews? Basically every person who owns one complains about it. Nopenopenope...

End rant, lol

I saw that yesterday... the thing is that used to say "December 18, 2014" up until 12/17/2014, lol. Basically I think they are guessing.

Just released in the US yesterday  and ordered one . I really hope it doesn't have bleeding like my u2713hm did.

I had to return 4 monitors before I got a good one.

That's where I got mine... of course when I ordered the other day it was $1299 and still came with free shipping. How odd that they would jack up the price like that? That being said...

GJ keeping that box safe FedEx! You  had it for all of what... 36 hours? LMAO, good thing Samsung took that into account (I obviously removed the top styrofoam "cap" here):

Nestled in the top foam was the "accessory pack", AKA power brick and assorted cables/adapters/manuals.

This was NOT an easy task! I'm thinking Samsung should print proper removal technique for this beat on the side of the box, lol... mmmm, this picture reminds me of Prom night!

Oh, you didn't want to see pictures of more foam? Sorry.

And after I finally got everything unpacked and plugged in!

It's still too bright out to do a full review in its proper...ness, but Ill be sure to do a full write up soon. Initial impressions after playing some FC4 and movie trailers is its frigging amazing!

Is it uncomfortable sitting that close to a 34" monitor.
Took me awhile to get used to sitting 2 feet away from a 27" can't imagine 34" that close.

Not as of yet. Then again I've only had it a few hours and am moving up from a 29" ultra wide monitor so I guess the change in size isn't as drastic as say... if u has a 23/24" 16:9. If anything its better for me now since I can adjust height and tilt which I could not with my old Asus monitor.

If it helps the HEIGHT of the screen is about = to a 27" 16:9... of course it's 3' across, lol

I know your just getting used to it, but does the curve of the screen seem like it changes the view......like the FOV  or tunnel view so to speak? Basically do you notice a difference in the view?

What about editing photos and drawing lines? Does the curved screen make it seem proportionally different?

The curve is definitely noticeable, however I dont think it effects FOV very much. It's difficult to tell since I dont have a non-curved 34" 21:9 monitor to compare this to.  I suppose if I sat closer to the monitor it would help with seeing the periphery however as it is, its similar to sitting mid way back in an Imax theater.

That's what I was trying to ask LOL Interesting to say the least, I will although hold out until pricing comes down.... obviously it will be awhile.

i have been sitting within 3 feet of a 47 inch display for 3 years now. usually I am looking at everything in a window, (attached pic) and videos/movies at full screen with no problem. I will (as soon as available i will be upgrading to 4K but I want to make sure it will do at least 4k @60+hz and 4:4:4: full color minimum) and would also like for it to have active 3D also. Right now choices are limited but I will keep hope alive that one will soon be available. It did take a while to get used to such a large display but the LG 47LX9500 has a very high DPI ratio, with super clear text and was IMHO the last great LG display that was made...
I don't think I would want the curved screen but I have not tried one so , I may like it if given the opportunity to try it. Glad to see you finally got it,
    Congratulations!
    Its a beautiful display!

Looking forward to your thoughts after you have used it for a while and see what you think of it. I'm sure it will be awesome!
I hope Samsung will be making a 47-52 inch flat version soon. OLED would be even better but the price would have to be much lower than current OLED displays are now.
    Again, Congratulations!

I received my Dell U3415W yesterday and couldn't have had a bigge smile on my face when I started up Warcraft. The picture / color is amazing and better then any other monitor I've owned It only cost a little over 1k after Dells discounts . I'll try and get some pis up tonight .This monitor replaced a Dell U2713HM.
