My 980ti folds at about 70c with the fan operating at 68%, which is audible but okay. What temp does your 980ti fold at and/or what temp is okay to fold at continuously? I know there isn't a black and white answer to this, but was curious what others do.

I have 3 980Ti classifieds. They all run in 3 different temp ranges, and they all follow the ASIC values. The higher the ASIC the lower the temps. They are spaced with an extra space between each card so airflow isn't an issue. The middle card had the highest ASIC and would fold around 62c to 66c. The bottom card had the middle ASIC and folds between 68c and 72c. And the top card with the lowrst ASIC was running between 78c and 82c. I didn't get a chance to check the TIM on the card because I sent it in for an RMA due to a squeaky fan. And those temps were with the fansat 100%. But they are in a small room.

Zophar do you worry about wearing out the fans by running them at 100% 24x7? My cards ASIC quality is 83.5%, which I think is pretty good.

That is an excellent ASIC score.
No I dont worry about the fans wearing out. As long as you keep the fans clean it shouldn't be a problem. And I would have to ask, will you keep you GPU past the end of the warranty? If not then I wouldn't worry about the fan speed. Heck I've had some of the fans in my system running 100% almost 24/7 for the last 2 1/2 years without them failing.

Thanks for the feedback on the fans. It's a temp vs. noise/fan use that I'm pondering. Yes, I plan on keeping the card past it's warranty. I typically don't sell them and upgrade.

Well even if the fans do go out after warranty, they're usually pretty easy to find replacements online or on EBay.

I just got a 980ti hybrid and just started folding too. Right now it's running about 46 C after about an hour or so. No idea what the noise is like, I'm not home!

Congrats on the card, and welcome to the world of Folding at Home. Glad to have you. Very nice temps on that card. Can't wait to get my Classy's under water. Third on comes back from RMA next week and then it's on.

My 3x 980ti's, middle is a hybrid. I use a custom curve on the fans, using MSI Afterburner. Top runs at 76'c, fan at 80% Hybrid at 52'c, fan at 50% Bottom one at 65'c, fan at 80%. My room temp is high, at 28'c.

I only have one 980 Ti. It's 4991-KR and folding right now at 1484 on the core with the stock bios. The temps are 71-73C with a MSI 970 blower card below it. I don't use side panels and the fans on both cards are at about 80%.
