yeah, I had this several times...you have to keep trying. A few times I had that happen and the server list started to appear behind it and it was wacky scrolling super fast and repeating servers and my menu became very slow - so slow the ticker at the bottom was barely crawling by and I had to quit out and start again. ALL of this is happening today for some reason, I was semi fine the past 4 days.

Can someone explain how people like this guy ( http://battlefieldbadcompany2.com/stats?persona=232537190&platform=pc) have sniper rifle scores of like 1000 kills, with an accuracy of 90% and then also have done it in about 2 hours and 5 minutes. This equates to being a Sniper, and killing 8 people per minute....I can't even find 2 people in one minute let alone fire at 8 of them and then hit 8 of them. This is clearly a cheater and how these people are still left ranked is beyond me.

Yah, just look at the stats of the guy at the top of the leader board. Guys with low hours and super high scores. I remember in the other BF's there would be like the 1st 100 guys were shenanigans and then EA would clean house one day.

Mmm, dunno. I have played with HD drivers and X-Fi. The surround with headset is great! Although, I do notice guys at time sneaking up from behind or plan shooting me from behind and I didn't hear a sound, but I'm thinking it might have been lag.

i wish there were more seartch options also. like search for hardcore or not. there also needs to be mroe gamemodes. CTF is needed! along with other things like normal deathmatch. (i know conquest is like that but with objectives)

I have read lots of complaints about all voice coming through center regardless of direction and gunshots coming through all speakers so even telling the direction a shot came from is impossible.

I must need to work with my sound.... When I through a nade to my left.. Look strait.... I hear it equally in both speakers.... I cannot tell at all other than one went off. Thank goodness when the enemy throws one It shows us the orange nade is it is incoming...

I am having so much fun playing this game but lately it is really pissing me off. My game will all of a sudden freeze and turn into a white screen while I can still hear the game going on. This used to only happen to me a couple of times a night but today it has given me over 10 white screens. I am lucky if I can stay in the game for over 10 minutes, and then it still freezes. I am using 196.21 with SLI patch 25. Also on a side note. Sometimes after a BC2 crash my GTX 280's won't run at their 3D settings (650mhz), they will only run at 400mhz. And I can't seem to find an easy way to reset my GPU's. I've been having to restart my computer. Does anyone know an easier way? EDIT: After just trying 3 different servers, I got a white screen within 5 minutes of playing every time. This is getting ridiculous. Haven't been able to play a full game yet.

disapointed.id rather play 2142..sniping ruins the game for me i can not walk 5 feet without getting 1 shot by someone 500 yards away hitting a target the size of a car..i last 5 minuts in game b4 i end up quitting..not fun at all..id sell my copy of i could but i got it on steam..i wish call of duty had dedicated servers its way more balanced..i have it for ps3

I did not have the new patch installed when I wrote that. But I installed it about an hour after, and in the first game I white crashed within the first 5 minutes.
So I decided to uninstall BC2 and reinstall it with the new patch. After that, the rest of the night (hour and a half) I didn't get any white screen crashes. But for some reason I was getting some weird artifacts. Checked my temps and nothing was really hot.
Well after I got back from class today I decided to install the latest driver 197.25 and SLI patch 26. This time I decided to do the driver sweeper since I saw that I still had like 4 previous driver folders still in my C drive (never done it before). I followed someones guide on here for that.
And now after reinstalling BC2, sweeping drivers, and installing fresh drivers I can finally play this game again! Just got done with over an hour of game play with no white screens or artifacts. I only had 1 CTD but I will gladly take that over crashing every 5 minutes and screwing up my drivers.

Actually, the sniper rifle bullets have more bullet drop to them than SMG's, assault rifles, M60's, MG36's, and shotguns with the slug mod. As for the range, max effective range in game is about 330 meter. There are some weapons that don't reach that far. At that distance bullet drop is insane, it's almost like lobbing bullets, and few maps offer that kind of sniping distance.
So much work to do... someone has to do it.

Yeah, had some fun last night as well. Although I am sad to informt hat it was AB putting a bullet in my head sniping me accross the map!
I hope I get a chance to pay him back soon. I had about 3 crashes last night as well something that didn't happen before this new patch. Not sure what is going on, but I hope I can figure it out soon or else I'm going to have to continue putting this game off for a while longer.
I actually had a + K/D last night playing on the EVGA server and I saw PBB doing a lot of work, something that I either just didn't notice before or probably played in servers that did not have this.

Lot of people complaining about crashing but to be honest I run smoth as butter. I had couple of CTD before first patch and none since and I have played 35+ hours. The only thing that I can offer for help and I do this for every game or application that uses GPU is disable desktop composition(DC) on the game or app. *.exe. This way it disables DC before game starts and re enables it after exit.

The maps are to big and promote to many snipers..in 2142 i loved the urban maps with big battles.sniping was alot harder..i just lose fun factor when i look and see there 15 people sniping on each team.killed by sniper is what i see 90% of the time..i will stick to crappy ps3 graphics and call of duty for my fps fix..the pc version has to many cheaters due to no decicated servers..sniping is a problem and dice knows it..from reading there forums anyways

I'd say I'm rather disappointed about being killed by machine gun wielding jerk that as Recon, I shoot with my handgun 5 times in the chest and he doesn't die but shoots me one time and I'm dead....so it all evens out. I'm disappointed that I end up respawning in an open place with 4 enemy guys around me. I'm disappointed that I enter a game 10 seconds before it ends and I'm on the losing team and I get a LOSS added to my totals. I'm disappointed that I have to carefully adjust my shot from across the map to hit this so called car sized target which looks like a pin dot on my screen just so I can ensure I get a headshot - and then the jerk MOVES one inch and I miss!!!!!! I'm disappointed that I'm a loser (Win/Loss record is low) but I still like this game, and everything balances out in the end - as long as there are no cheaters.

@ Z-Knight.... And now I am disappointing because you are  I had a wonderful KDR last night. In fact it improved my overall KDR from 1.16 to 1.25 (Link) and my really crappy accuracy form 7% to 16%... For me this game is absolutely addictive. But if they do not fix the hits and crashes any time soon I may put it to pasture and make it a game I play once in a while, not daily. I put an entire clip in a sniper last night and got not one hit register..... Dead in my sights.. Never saw me. I had to move out to almost full exposure to get the kill... In the meantime I was taken out now because I was exposed. My thinking is in game lag of some type. Regardless.. It is fun to play all of you. The comic relief on Vent helps quite a bit as well. Go Idaho!!! (MUHahahahahaha)

Afterburner, I'm just as addicted as you. I don't know why but I usually am not really a fan of "regular human movement" games such as this...I love Unreal Tournament and the crazy motion and weapons and maps. Somehow this game has me addicted though and I think it has to be the Sniper aspect which I love in any FPS game. I've been close to breaking keyboards/desk because I was pissed off at getting killed, but I also have had a huge grin on my face thinking about the times I probably pissed someone else just as royally...hehe, I love it.
I agree that the glitches and connection problems are annoying but I'll give it a little more time - in the meantime I'm gonna keep going on knife hunts because I love those dog-tags. The first 24 hours I had like 4 dog tags because I didn't know how to even use it, the last 10 hours I ramped that up to 124...oh yeah.

FWIW, I dont even check my K/D ratio or W/L record. I spawn and usually am toast in less than a minute. Sometimes it does become frustrating, getting killed by someone with 0 health and the like. What it boils down to for me is. I play the game to have fun, Not rank or stats. I know I'm not a spring chicken anymore and dont have the .01 millisecond twitch finger reflexes some teen, twenty or thirty year old has.

I think some of you missed the point of my sarcastic post. Therapy was complaining about snipers and how they got it so good and kill him so easily, but I was just trying to get back at him and complain (as a Sniper myself) that the engineers/medic/etc annoy me because they gun me down so easily and all I have in hand is my little useless pistol (no pun intended, I have nothing in my hand right now). I was just trying to say that there are a bunch of little frustrations that you can nit pick in the game and things that will happen to you, but in the end you probably will annoy other people just as much and so it all evens out. The game is fun if you don't let it get to you ... I feel really immersed in the world and it makes me thankful that I don't have to serve in the military to experience this first hand because I can guarantee you that they don't get to respawn.

I don't mind the snipers as much, it's the people using the gustov that annoy me now, specially with FF off. That thing kills infantry much better then it can a tank (at least for me) = noob tube on steroids.

Oh I do not know..... I think it is more about the style some like to play.... Some like to run and gun for points with no care about KDR... Just like the fun of it..... And some like to snipe because of the challenges it brings with it... I could go on and on... But in the end as long as folks play they way they want.... well they have the right too. They bought the game. We did not buy it for them... That is one reason why I no longer play on a few servers... The rules they make are because of the way they want folks to play. That is cool as well. They pay for the server. And it is cool for me to not play on them. It is called freedom of choice. So run around... Hop.... Spray and pray.... Be an accurate skilled player all you want... Just play
