OK, I hate you all for recommending this damn game!!!!  I can't stop playing it.  The server browser sucks but overall the game is pretty fun once you don't use the "Play Now" button and get placed in 250+ ping games...when you can actually hit people and it registers it is fun.

I just went on a knife hunt.  After the game finished I had a total of 12 dog-tags in one round...   three of the dog-tags were silver.

Anyone know why some are silver?

Actually, I play all classes equally.

stupid question, but how do you pick up health and ammo?  I seem to run past some of them and though sometimes I hear a click noise for ammo I still see the box on the ground.  For the health the same thing...I don't even know how to find out your current health - is it in the HUD somewhere and I'm just missing it?

thanks.

You just stand near it until you are back to full hp or you have the amount of ammo you want.

Ok, a lot of good posts about the game.

I have had problems starting the, some securom (9000) code.
While i was sick and home last week i tried all day to find a fix for this, and found none.

Frustrated, i returned it for the PS3 version.  WAIT, dont crucify me yet... I just wanted to play the darn thing.

I have found the PS3 version to be pretty darn good. Beat single, way to short.
The graphics and most gameplay are great, teamwork problems are there, a lot of people just doing there own thing.
Once you see a good squad in action, you appreciate the game more.
Hitbox problems on PS3 also, i mean i was pretty far off target with a sniper rifle, and laughed when i got a headshot from it.

My biggest complaint is, no prone position.. that is just too basic a thing to not be in this game, or any other similar type game.
I am dealing with it, and still enjoy the game, but could be a little better here and there with the right tweaks.

Got to love DRM that screws up your legitimately purchased game.

Guys, i dont know how many of you know this but its much much quicker when you are searching for a server to his search and then cancel. in like 5 more seconds all the servers will pop up. instead of having to wait the actual 30 seconds or w/e it takes to wait for it to stop searching.

Yeah, this is what I've been doing but I thought it was common knowledge.  I don't know if all the servers get populated this way, but it works well enough for me.

yeah, i figured that out by accident...well, 50% of it, I didn't know the rest of the servers would come up later, I figured I just got all the ones it found prior to my cancel.

Anyone know why my History does not show any servers I visit...it seems to have the same old ones (like 6 of them) but nothing new.

Also, how can I add a server to favorite...I tried it and sat there for 4 minutes while it did the "WAIT" thing and I gave up...it can't really take that long to make a server a favorite as it does searching for all servers.  What am I doing wrong?

yeah, there is some annoying ping issues though it seems. ill have 60-80 fps constant but it is stuttering. Eprecision doesnt fluctuate so i think its lag. which is annoying.

Hanni

I love it. Only 2 things that annoy me are, sorry, 3.

1. Not getting any score when I die. Like, I throw a grenade and someone kills me but that grenade happens to kill 3 guys, it says + 50 + 50 + 50 triple kill whatever but it doesn't transfer to your points on your scoreboard.

2. 40mm grenade launcher's area of effect range/power.

3. Knifing. It happens to me all the time that I see a guy approach. I take out my shotgun, and shoot it and it hits him in the head. You know when you make headshots it makes a weird sound like when you pop a champagne bottle open or smth? Either way, he manages to still knife me and his HP is still at 100% HP, ****..?

Wow this really drives the point home whats with that at least they should die too and on top of that a 40mm hit in the middle of three players nobody moves but they all live wth is that about.hacks cheats I would like to know. magic potion.

Re:What is your opinion on BFBC2? 2010/03/21 09:20:37 (permalink)
OK... For me it is official... This is now my favorite game. I simply have no desire to play any other "Army" game at this time. I love...
  • The flexibility.. Squad or no squad...
  • The seemingly endless weapon options (This alone is worth the price of admission)
  • how much work it takes to get to level 20 is perfect...
  • In a large match you can play for the most part to your own personal strengths...
  • The EVGA Server and the players from here are a great group of folks and reflects on EVGA in a positive manner (Well most of us, I am a little off )
  • I am ecstatic that I can see every single weapon stat and what my results are. Of course had I of known this earlier on I would not have stayed in empty servers trying to take buildings, trees, heli's and tanks down with all of them and getting a bullet counts n  the process ...
  • The amount of different weapons we can play with.
  • Frankly..... This game is everything it should have been 5-7 years ago.
  • This game for me was the best $50 I have ever spent on a game. Period...

Some less than flattering items though...
  • Weapon damage.... They need to do a much better job with the weapons. The 50 cal Sniper in real life will go through an engine block. In this game it will not go through a "Clay" wall.. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuulloney.
  • Random crashes. I am the type of player that really gets into a match a few times a night. With one goal.... 4x1 KDR. Each time it will be with a different weapon package. This helps me get a feel for the package later on when in a squad and I am asked to do a function. Anyway.... It seems when I have had an exceptional match, and we are about to win... My game closes and I am sitting at my desktop. I loose all I just did and that bugs me!
  • The save as favorite function is a POS. This needs fixed! Or at least allow us to manually enter the IP....
  • The noob tube damage. This is pure crap. These are grenades EA.. COME ON PEOPLE!!!!
  • The team balance. I like how the game moves entire Squads.. I think that is great... But not when all it does is take one team that was larger, and make the other side the larger one. It needs to move individuals first! I do not think it is as of right now. I played about six hours last night and more than once we asked or had been asked to even the teams... And the squad moved making the admin think folks are not doing as asked because it still shows one side as heavy (only a few times but still)...
  • This one pisses me off the most... Not sure why it is happening... But when the match is less than 5v5.. If I get killed... and get stuck in the "Select weapons" waiting to get back in... For what seems like 1-2 minutes!! By the time I get back in... Nothing is what it was before I died... This really sucks in rush because usually the Mcom was set and destroyed before I get back in...
  • Knifing... If the other guy has already hit his knife button.. I hit him in the head and he stabs me with no damage to him. So the at of the knife saves his life when in reality he should be the one dead...
  • The fact that I have to sleep. I wanna play!!!!!

I have another question ... Say you play 2 straight games and you earn points in each game but you don't exit the game...then you start the 3rd game and your computer crashes (as mine has done twice now) do I lose the stats from the first 2 games??    I know I lose my 3rd game stats but what about the first 2 - I was just continuing on the same server so I never exited to the menu and hence I wonder if the update is still saved.

I think (From what I see anyway) you do yes. I have found as long as the next game has the "Join" button... all my stats have been updated. I have Exited at that point to deliberately answer that question for myself and find in my situations all my data is there.

Re:What is your opinion on BFBC2? 2010/03/21 11:15:48 (permalink)
I just got the game from the EA Games website.  They have a promo going on right now and it's only $39.99 and then I used a promo code at checkout for an additional $5 off so I only paid $35.00 for the game :P

If anyone wants the promo code to get the extra $5.00 off, it's:  M93SW4PQQ2

As far as the game goes, I've only played about 9-10 hours so far, but I can honestly say this is the best FPS war game I have ever played and it's the best Battlefield game ever made and I've owned and played all of them.  I love the Battlefield series of games, but this one is by far the best of them all.  It still has some bugs and things to be worked out, but EA Games has always been good about getting updates/patches out to fix things fairly quick.  I'm sure this game will only get better and better as time goes on.  It's been that way with all of the Battlefield games.  They weren't the greatest at first, but then after a while and a bunch of updates/patches, the games usually end up being virtually flawless and just simply make for some excellent gameplay.

I give Battlefield BC2 a 9/10 as it is now with the few bugs it has.  Once they fix everything, it gets a 10/10 from me.

They did a great job on this game and I'm simply impressed at what they've done with the Battlefield series of games now.  I'm sure it's only going to get better!

See you guys on the EVGA server!

ok two words for the game:  SERVER BROWSER is my new F-U.   I hate that thing, it makes me want to puke.

USAS-12 this gun is crazy! I was having fun with this one last night

+1 on the 50 cal AB. I was using that lately with high damage ammo perk. I can get an infantry heli to smoke pretty good with four shots, but can't kill a guy without a head shot at moderate rang when it should be de-limbing them. There was a guy last night (3 gold bar) that took 3 hits with it and 2 mortar strikes, never died, but the knife eventually worked first try lol.

+1 on tubes. I say get rid of them and have hand nades that work... yet I die by them a lot. Doesn't seem too consistent.

knifing is too easy IMO, I have had to resort to it because of the advantage... but then I have had cases were I spot on knife and the blood fly's but the guy doesn't die.

Team balance. I know this isn't real popular, but it worked well. TRR had a server in 2142 that mixed everyone up regardless of squad and kept the game always balanced. This allowed for great games over a long time because you wouldn't get stuck with noobs on one side and a team cleaning house every game on the other. Peeps start to leave when that happens.

One thing I haven't heard from anyone is the weapon load out every time you join a new server. I'm used to doing this once when I start the game.

Anyone heard anything about VOI working? I heard someone briefly once, but that was it.

I had no issues for about a week in limited play, and I had some free time to frag only to be greeted with this today!
