Precision X16 is an absolute, buggy mess. Worse, it breaks other, completely unrelated parts of a system when you install it (e.g Arial Bold in multiple browsers and applications). Did you guys even test this software before you released it?

I'm sorry if I sound frustrated, but I am. I'm trusting this software to control my expensive hardware at a low level, at the edge of its performance envelope, and the fact that it is so buggy doesn't exactly inspire confidence in either how it is controlling my GPU or how it is reporting data back to me.

I think I'm going to use MSI Afterburner until this is all sorted out. It's a shame really, because Precision X used to be great. EVGA, from a return customer who has bought several of your GPU's, please fix your damn software. This should have NEVER been released, even casual testing would have found the myriad issues that are present in Precision X16 right now.

I wish EVGA would just make up with Unwinder, pay him what he needs and get back to using his very great version of precision x. That is, if Unwinder would even consider it.

Input: RMA the motherboard if it is not functioning.

I am sure that Unwinder's first version was perfect.    All of his later versions were just to show off.

EVGA will continue to make this software better and will iron out the bugs just like Unwinder eventually did.  In the long-run, being Unwinder-free will be beneficial to everyone.

I am rmaing the mother board if you do not have a problem with your board im happy for you. just putting out it might be a precision hic up. no need to be sarcastic

I wasn't being sarcastic.  You asked for our input.  My input is that you should RMA the motherboard if you have determined that the motherboard is malfunctioning.  If you want our input on whether Precision caused the problem, I stated that it is conjecture and not worth commenting on.

I disagree. Given all the circumstances surrounding this, and in general, I think it would be best to just leave this mess in the past and build new... from the ground up and keep everything in house this time around. I understand that that might not be the easiest thing to do, but hopefully that will benefit both EVGA and their customers/users the most in the long run.

This kind of mess is what can happen when you outsource and collaborate with others that have a conflict of interests with you, even if the relationship started with the best intentions. (I'm not placing blame here either way, as I don't think it's productive nor beneficial.)

I don't mind waiting for a solid, powerful, and user friendly software suite from EVGA that complements their great hardware and customer care. (Speaking from my personal experiences with this great company.)

Make it a priority and impress us EVGA!

Question: why somebody installs a software without first reading, if the software is working 1A? For my part, i will install it only when i don't read in any thread something about bugs. Till that point i still use 4.2.1 and i'm very happy. Don't missunderstand me, i don't say it's ok, that there are some bugs. BUT: in every new software you will find them. Or did Windows came ever in any version without any bugs? Did Battlefield 4 came without any bug?
We all should not forget: Evga goes a new way, they make a new tool and start at point 0. I know, a few peoples think, only because they were born perfect and they never ever make any mistake, all others also have to be perfect. But in real life: life is buggy, so why should software not be ;-) ? Give them a chance and maybe in 1-2 years also the new Precision X will be better. Good things need time.

I've used EVGA Precision for years (and RivaTuner before that) and when it said there was an update available, I figured why not, these guys have done a good job in the past.

    BIG MISTAKE.

The quality issues with this new version 16 are outrageous.  This has seriously shaken my faith in EVGA as a company.  If you don't have a stable version, don't release it as a general release!  How can there not be any way to prevent the OSD processes from running and screwing everything up?  Do you really think it's acceptable to have to go and add every single game/app that gets broken to an exclusion list, even when the OSD isn't even being used?  And the UI for accessing that exclusion list isn't even available when you're not using the OSD.  Unbelievable!

Having bugs that cause your own software to malfunction is one thing.  Having bugs that cause other unrelated software to malfunction is another.  In my opinion, version 16 should be pulled until the OSD processes are OPT IN ONLY, so that unsuspecting users don't end up having to figure out why everything on their system is falling apart due to a feature they aren't even using.  I was fortunate in that it was easy for me to identify Precision as the cause, but I can certainly imagine people doing complete new OS installs or whatever having a much tougher time of it.

    Get it together, please!

I'm not sure who thought the interface design for 16 was good...but they need to be fined. This is horrible compared to the previous version. It takes way too long to figure out how to do things. I knew it was going to be a mess when the "download" button on the page for it was 1/100th the size it needed to be...

In light of the recent problems that many of the consumer base feels EVGA has I feel fortunate that the GTX 970
I installed today seems to be just fine.

The new version of Precision was not working correctly and doing things sometimes and not others so I decided to uninstall.  That created problems as well and it sucked time away from my life fixing it. In light of recent developments
in the EVGA world, just look around at numerous posts in different section of the forums and you'll see, my faith
in EVGA is gone. Will it return? Perhaps.

EVGA has slipped, it remains to be seen if they make a comeback.  I realize there are many good folks who
work there and to you all I wish the best of luck.

For many reasons I will give careful consideration before purchasing and or utilizing any software or hardware
marketed and developed by EVGA.  Of course I am aware that all companies have problems but the "no brainer"
choice to buy and use products with the EVGA branding no longer exists.

I had problems in the past and received excellent support in fixing or replacing as necessary so this is not just an unreasonable response to the first issue I ever had........just a reflection of where EVGA has gone.  Good luck
guys and gals, I truly hope you get your act together.
