Has any one heard of these?  What company are these are rebranded from? I know it only has a 1yr warranty, but for $87. shipped for a 2TB hard drive. Would any one pull the trigger on this?  It's apparent I have too many questions so I think I'm going to walk away.

Probably better to get the WD Green 2TB at the egg. No?

I would recommend this over the WD greens, but that's just my preference:

As hard as it seems, white label hard drives are actually drives that has failed in the past, and fixed somewhere outside the original place it was made in.
For example, a that white label drive could be (and looks like) a Caviar Green that failed in the past, and fixed in my garage.

What that means to you is that it is considerably cheaper, but also considerably less desirable because you do not know where it was fixed, or how accurate the rating is for the MTBF. At least you have the 1 year warranty, but I wouldn't be surprised if it failed on the second month of the year.

Don't by WD greens, they're slower than mollasses in January. Go with WD blacks or those Samsungs.

I've had a few white label drives. Never had an issue with the ones I got. I think mine were remanufactured WD drives. I picked them up at the Tiger Direct outlet store not far for where I used to live.

On a totally off topic note, the Tiger Direct outlet was outright shady. They would take returns and stock them back on the shelves right next to the new packages without informing the customer. I've never trusted Tiger Direct since I saw thier staff take a return at the service desk and walk it over to where the item was on the shelf and restock it.

I was looking for a good price on a WD 2TB black, but the prices are still a bit high for me.  I guess I'm going to have to pay it as I need it very soon.

BTW, I use 1.5TB WD Greens in my data raid and even though they specificly say not to use greens in a raid they've always worked flawlessly and are fast. No issue in over a year on the build.
