I am new to the EVGA forums and noticed this section. What is ? What do you have to do to contribute? Do you have to have an awesome rig to participate? Also what are Evga Bucks used for? Can you use Evga Bucks to purchase items such as GPUS and or Motherboards?

    1. http://folding.stanford.edu/

    2. run a software client on your computer while you use/work or while it idles (some leave their systems on all day like me)

    3. no..Any rig will do - the team will accept anyone and the research/educational institute accepts you. Anybody that want to fold with any rig is acceptable.

    4. evga bucks are use for buying stuff at EVGA website
so you can buy Video cards or motherboards

    How it works:

You can earn up to 120 EVGA bucks if you earn a minimum of 350,000 points per month, or up to 60 EVGA bucks if you earn a minimum of 150,000 points per month. During the Year 4 promotion, you can earn anything from 5-120 EVGA bucks depending on your folding@home output. At midnight of the first day of every month we will take a capture of your points. Your count will then reset the following month so you will need to earn 150,000 or 350,000 more points that month to get more EVGA bucks. For each milestone, you will need to check in on the My Folding page to request your EVGA Bucks. To check your current 'folding year' point totals, check your My Folding page.

PS: don't forget to go to your folding page and click on buttons once you reach tiers to collect the bucks

Easiest way to start out is to use FAH gpu tracker or V7 client
    (use V7 for ATI cards)

FAH GPU tracker thread (does CPU and GPU...so don't let the name fool ya)

    that's a year ($10 max a month)
remember to make that $10 you will have to use electricity - which would cost around $20+
(cost of elect depends on how many rigs and how much they draw - and about how much you want to give to the cause)

this is for people who wish to donate their computer time and a little bit of energy
EVGA just compensates us a bit for it to be the #1 team and because we are donating our rig time

other teams do not compensate so you be out the full $20+
whereas EVGA users/folders recoup $10 back

some users have multiple rigs(with multiple GPU's) and energy bill can be quite considerable
