Just want to be on the lookout to check for issues with my 1080FTW. What are you guys seeing? Does the system lock up and fans spin up to 100%? My last card, which was a open box 1080 classified, was locking up my system with a high pitch whine. Then I had to power off my system. What does your system do when the card is crashing?

Thinking about it, evga should replace these cards and pay for shipping back and forth with the problems these cards are having. I like evga and think they make really good products, but honestly, I bought the classified card from microcenter and would of loved to keep it but I didn't want to pay to get it sent to evga and then wait god knows how long for them to replace it, and then send it back. You guys know what downtime means to us without our computers. It's like a crack addict without their fix. Even if I sent it to them, there is no guarantee that they would send me a new card. Hopefully they would. Just too much $ to spend on a 700$ card already.

Anyways please post what you guys are seeing when your card crashes. Thanks!

If card is fault they will replace you.
Off course you will not need to pay again because you got fault card.

Symptoms of unstable card are different, crash to desktop, driver stop working, BSOD, etc...
In your case maybe something else make you problems. Similar things happen with fault motherboards sometimes.
Suddenly lack of stable power to GPU.

Best you can do is to ask someone to test your GPU in other PC.
I had similar problem long time ago and same GPU work and today without problem.
    AMD motherboard was problem.

I think you do need to pay again, at least shipping the card back to them...right? And who in their right mind would pay for anything less than two day or overnight shipping? I want my card there and back in light speed. It just sucks when having to do it. I know they will replace it, not arguing that. But are you getting a brand new card? Same exact model? Shipping costs to them?

This 1080, both classified and ftw is the absolute most money I've ever spent on a video card. Actually the most I've ever spent on a single piece of computer hardware. Really...700$ is a good amount of money to me. I bought my first card for less than that! For that money, I think they hardware should be babied to some degree. But I understand business is business. Just venting :)

Off course shipping cost is something normal when hardware is fault.
Everyone need to be ready on that.
All of us want hardware immediately. People in some countries wait a month sometimes.
First I would try GPU in other PC or in some hardware store, just to be sure.
It would be bad to pay shipping for normal working GPU if something else make you problems.

Yes but at the cost of these cards, maybe shipping is something that can be covered. But I understand what you're saying.

My system is 100% rock stable. With the NEW FTW card, it has shown 100% stability so far.

All issues can be directly linked to the following fact which is visibly posted on your box and card;  MADE IN CHINA.  I half expect over 2/3rds of all cards to fail within the first year.  Even my new 1060 SC is having "issues" with its HDMI port.  Good God, when will we learn that China just manufactures utter crap.  (I know the cards would be $10,000.00 apiece if made anywhere else but China, but Jesus, there has to be some accountability for quality.)
