Y'all just made me so happy! Let me tell you why: I was born in the late 1950s, raised by a musician and married a musician. In the mid 1970s I wanted to take bass lessons with my brother but my dad said "Girls don't play bass." (So glad things have changed!) and that was the end of that. A couple of years ago, I was in a largish skype chat group of mostly 17-25 yo PMods from a popular mmorpg. We were talking about music and I mentioned Led Zeppelin and heard back dead silence. So I said "Jimi Hendrix?" And the responses I heard included "Who?" and "Never heard of him." With my heart around my feet and literally tears in my eyes, I said "How about the Beatles?" And the replies were all along the lines of "Heard of them but never heard anything by them." I was so upset I had to leave the call... That awful feeling has stayed with me since that day. The fact is the music from the 60s, 70s, and even early 80s is some of the most innovative ever and I truly fear that most of it is being lost as people from my generation are leaving this Earth. Then I stumble upon this page and well, I'm still smiling. (Before being called an exclusionist, and altho I freely admit to being a total music snob, I do want to say that I enjoy a lot of music from most all decades, not just the ones I mentioned.) So thank you! So with that in mind, on my husband's and my playlist today is this gem from 1971: edited: apparently I need to figure out how to add a you tube link! brb... apologies! And brain not working today. :( The song is by Harry Nilsson, "Jump Into The Fire" from "Nilsson Schmilsson"

Welcome to the EVGA forums and one of my favorite posts, MrsMoondog. It's nice to hear you followed your interest in playing the Bass Guitar. Melissa Auf der Maurer is a little known Bass player who at one time played with Hole: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melissa_Auf_der_MaurTo post a YouTube video you need to open the "Full Version" and then click the icon on the far right called 'Special PGDCode' Then click on 'YouTube Video Embed' and the Paste the video's link between the brackets. Here is a great Bass Guitar player (not playing Bass in the video here) with Screaming Females performing with Garbage in on of my favorite videos. Sorry I don't know what her name is. Kim Deal is another great Bassist...
