Unless it's a very old unit you shouldn't have an issue provided the wattage is sufficient for your planned build. What PSU do you currently have? If you are unsure of which wattage to get check out EVGA's Power Meter.

The Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 1200W main reason is my current PC tends to restart during game play but not all the time. but I plan on getting EVGA Z170 FTW, i7-6700K, and a EVGA GeForce GTX 970 GAMING ACX 2.0+

Someone answered that already I see. Also, it should work with your setup. You can always use the power meter to figure out the wattage you need.

I read long time ago that in-order to use the latest Intel CPU's we would have to upgrade the PSU.

What you are talking about were the new C6/C7 Power States that were introduced in 4th Generation/Haswell processors..Some/older power supplies don't support those low-power C6/C7 Power States..A list of EVGA power supplies that support C6/C7 power states can be found here by expanding the "Intel 4th Generation Ready Power Supplies" list..Information about Intel processor Power Mangement States can be found in the processor's Datasheet, volume 1..New/newer processors inherited those Power States and no new Power States were added that would need any special power supply requirements..If a power supply says "Haswell Ready" (or similar), it will work with 4th Generation/Haswell and newer Intel processors..For those that would have new/newer Intel processors and a power supply that does not support C6/C7 Power States, those Power States would need to be disabled in the BIOS.

If he want new Intel Z170 platform than should choose and one nice efficient PSU.
Don't need to be extremely strong. 750W is somehow best way for single graphic card.
Welcome in EVGA PSU Crew. I have P2 as well, you will like him.

No worries about having more power, it allows you the freedom to upgrade a lot later. Like in my sig right now you can see I have the 1200 P2 from EVGA but only one 980 Ti. Plus, getting a PSU bit larger than your exact requirements means the PSU wont be stressed as much and will run cooler and quieter :)

You bought 1200 P2?

I think it's time to EVGA show SFX PSU in 750/850W Platinum.
For now only Silverstone offered that and I saw Lian-Li before few days.
They recognize lack of strong PSU for their cases and they decide to launch alone.

OK I didn't done that intentionally... Something stuck on browser.
Looks like my SSD will fail soon. I start to see some errors and windows index drop heavily.
I don't need that now when I save money for GPU...
Maybe I will need to order 950 PRO before I planned and before temps drop on 70C at least under load. with newer revision.
