Darkboomhoney German Support said they are working for an gtx 1080 Classified hydro Block i hope the Informations are correct

I hope this is true. Like I mentioned previously, it would make sense giving the abrupt course change for EK. Why create a product that EVGA themselves are going to release likely made by EK.
Lets hope that it comes out sometime soon. Would love to not waste time trying a 980ti classified block.

StealthArsenal Just need to measure the blocks to make sure they line up properly and cover all the vrms and such beneath. Do all classy's have the same general size as the 1080 classified. Width and length? Edit: I just compared the PCB's of the 980TI Classified to the 1080 Classified. Unless the measurements work out way different (length and width of the block), the mounting is identical on the two cards for the waterblock. The 980 on the other hand does not line up to the PCB mounting that is on the 1080. You can compare the two PCB photos on EK's website and put the 980TI Classy next to the 1080 Classy and see what I am talking about. Pure dimensions from EVGA's website would seem to indicate the same PCB for the two cards with different GPU: Both are 11in or 279.4mm in length. The height while the same at 5.94in/150.88mm is insignificant since the coolers would come off.
True. They are pretty much identical. The ek780 wb was also confirmed to fit the 980 and 980ti. My only concern was gpu height, after a paste-droplet test on the mem and gpu, the gpu seemed somewhat lower on the board. Which is why i opted for the 0.5mm pads on the mem.

Dark, I have already posted content of email reply from EU EVGA customer/technical support in which they said they have NO information yet on any block for 1080 Classified. as below - this is email they sent me: thank you for contacting the EVGA Customer Service Team. My name is James Lac and I will answer your question today.
Your Answer:Hello, Unfortunately we do not have any current information on possible waterblocks for the classified models at this time. I do apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused you. Regards, EVGA

One would think that if EVGA was going to release a block they should just come out and say it. All of this mystery and inconsistent answers is just super confusing. Very similar to the 10 series launch in general with regards to availability and such.

A, so that was EVGA Support you mailed ! Question, can i return the 1080 Classified if i have allready registered the Card on EVGA Website, and claimed the 1000 Points for Paragon ? Im am realy realy considering returning the classified and Change it to a FTW Card. Because EKWB has a waterblock for the later. But then i dont know if the EVGA Powerplug will fit the FTW, and i really really Need the power Plug. Apart from that i really really want to Keep the classified, because ist the better built of the two, but if I can't watercool it, then it's useless to me.

Jacob has said there will be multi configurations for the power plug already.

I think there's still 780 blocks available at ekwb.

Is that 780 block full length or shorter. Looks like it is shorter than the 980ti classified block. Pictures are deceiving though.

It's this one: ekwb.com/wp-content/uploads/images/FC780-GTX-Classy_1200.jpg Basically, it covers what needs to be covered and does a good job at it, ref:my post back at page 5

I may try out the 980ti variant. I dont want to see any of the pcb at all.

scgt1 EK-Luc Can you get the measurements from the pci plate to the center of the terminals? I need to know how far the terminals are off from the EK-FC R9-290X - Acetal+Nickel (Rev.2.0) So I know if I need to completely get different fittings to go from the GPU to my Kryo m.2 waterblock. The following link is the area I'm talking about. It appears from images there is a pretty good difference between the distance of g 1/4 ports on the two blocks. http://imgur.com/oYClaaj Or at least the measurement from the edge of the block (i/o plate side) to the middle of each terminal. I can only assume the block fits to the edge of the pcb since there are no installed photos. That measurement will be close enough for what I need.
Sorry I was out for the weekend. Since I don't have any of those blocks in hands, I can't measure them. Sorry again.
This forum again not notifying me of reply's lol. You don't have a 1080 FTW block to measure?

The "980ti classified" variant is simply a 780 classified block.

I'll be waiting for that Alphacool version if it is true. I want a full block without seeing any of the PCB period.

Is alphacool working on a waterblock, like all their waterblocks are, in that their not true fullcover blocks ? If zou check some review of their waterblocks, youll see that allthough it cools the gpu okay, the VRMs are badly cooled, apart from that it has high restriction rating compared to true blocks like those from EKWB, Aquacomputer, etc. Thats why i decided in the end against it. Also 8 to 12 weeks seems like a lot of time, 3 months for a waterblock, i mean, whats the deal ? do they have a pentium 286 that makes the calculations for the waterblock ??? I think in the end im going to return the classified and get a FTW 1080, just because no proper waterblocks are available. I would get a zotac arctic storm if they were available. Besides, the FTW 1080 is 100 something euro cheaper, these can go to EKWB for the waterblock.

I asked Jacob on twitter about an EVGA block for the classified and he has confirmed they will be releasing on. Also power adapter availability in October.

Yes. As I said Jacob has confirmed a waterblock for the Classy. I don't work for EVGA so I have no idea who is making the block. I am going to go out on a limb and say it is EK large in part because they wouldn't put out a comment essentially indicating demand would be low if they sold it straight from their website.

Oh I assumed since you were here with EK you worked for EK and were located with them. Hence the thought you had them on hand or at least the model used in a light box for the pre order news release and the store page. Oh well it appears the 60* will work out pretty dang good by holding them up against my side window "GUESSING" where the G1/4 ports will line up in relation to my current 290X. Should look much better then what I have going on currently anyway with a 45* from my gpu block to a straight in my Kryo M.2 ssd block in a tight space.
