Hi,
I recently received an EVGA GTX1070 through the step-up program, which is great by the way. Now as soon as I received the card I noticed that this card is way too powerfull for my 1080p 144hz screen, so I sold it the next day. Now the new owner has registered the card in his name, but EVGA is asking him for a proof of purchase. Does this mean he doesn't get EVGA's warranty on the card?

He will be allowed only a guest warranty as explained here:

If the card is registered already to you then you cannot transfer the registration to him. I do not know if you can unregister the card and then it be registered to a second owner so contact EVGA for that info.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

I asked EVGA about this and yes  they  said first unregister the card (which I did) then the person who bought the card from you can register it in his name(which he also did). So why is EVGA asking the second hand buyer for a proof of purchase?

Update!
They are not. I just received an e-mail from EVGA and they say , I quote "For registering, he doesn't need to upload an invoice or receipt, as it's a second-hand card. He may skip that, and the card will register as usual. If he requires an exchange on the card in the future, he'll simply use the Guest RMA process as outlined in the previous email ".  Problem solved

Too powerful? Can you explain how this can be? Thanks. I need to decide between a GTX-980 ti Classified and a GTX-1070 FTW and need someone to give me a nudge on which direction I should go. My current motherboard for this is a Z97 that does not support SLI so I need a single board solution. Also gaming at 1080p 144 Hz.
