it does look much nicer on mobile but that could have been done with m.evga.com site instead of this attempt.

This sort of reminds of when Google Chrome decided to double-space my Bookmarks to make it more 'User Friendly' for tablet owners. This is the last tech site that I would think wants to be more tablet oriented. Does anybody here even use a tablet for this forum or does EVGA make a video board for one?

This forum has a separate mobile and pc version.  There is no reason to start such a conspiracy.  This "full" version is not in any way compromised for mobile devices.  EVGA has already acknowledged that this is not the final appearance of the site.  Think of this as a stepping stone.  Admire the elegance of the features instead of the appearance which WILL be changed later.

I didn't like it at first, but I'm getting used to it.
 
Hopefully it will come with some new features to make the change worthwhile.
 
But either way, it looks like it was a success and we aren't without the forums which is good.
 
I also prefer the mobile version, but I'll continue with the desktop version for a few days to see if I can 'adjust'.

Here is my solution... Just use the mobile version full time on the desktop.  I can't stand reading this more than about 3 minutes.  So much better to look at.

Have you tried the "essentials only" version of the full version?  It's pretty nice!  I love not having to see everyone's signature!  
 

I don't mind seeing everyones signature but I don't like the black background on white text, I want to go back to the white background on black text

It doesn't feel cluttered to me... just confusing as things are different.  I'm not a fan of the light grey and would prefer the center area a bit black with perhaps a lighter color on the bordering area.  From an artist perspective it makes more sense to focus the eye that way.
 
Then again... I don't have an avatar either but I do think things stand out more than in the previous forum version.  Perhaps that's what is bothering folks.

WOW.. NEW form is bad (as in NOT good).  Black/Gray background and white TEXT.... it will make me go blind!!!!!!!  I've never like sites with Black/Gray background and white TEXT.  Can we change it to our owe theme?

while I like the new features I can't say the aesthetics are particularly good. The wasted space, non-uniform white boxes (for ribbons/status) look pretty bad, emoticons have bits of white around them, there's a lot of wasted space, and it doesn't scale at all (if you snap to 50% screen on 1050 the PMs/extra pages line goes into the grey and the search bar gets crushed into the member home button).

We are making some minor tweaks as far as appearance goes shortly.  We will monitor feedback and continue to make changes (as well as possibly other themes).  Please look for more refinements as time progresses.
 
For today though, our main focus was stability and reliability.  We want to make sure some of the issues that we where experiencing on our prior forums have been fixed in this revision.  Please make sure to email any stability/reliability issues directly to me at rbaca@evga.com.

Keep at it rob, So far as stability goes it is that. But, it's too early to really judge stability. I do like the essentials only but even in that mode things need fixed/removed. If your going to take out signatures, take the avatars out too. That is not an essential, also the top menu should be...less. Simpler if anything when in essentials mode. Stop with the helpful posts... That yellow isn't helping! OP should be the only one who can mark a post as such.
 
Post count I think should be in essential only mode. Not everyone knows what the rank levels are, and i'm not sure if people base things on post count (like the level of help they are getting...I dunno)
 
You know how when you hover the mouse over a name, all the stuff that's removed in essentials mode should be in there, like mods rigs, ribbon count etc. (maybe even the avatar but not the sig)

When you close your eyes you can see the forums burned on your retina lol We are all going to dream EVGA forums tonight.

The way I see it just the overall forum theme needs to be fixed back to white background, black text and I would be happy with it.
