i HAVE THIS HTPC RIG I BUILT SOME TIME AGO WHICH IS NOW RUNNING WITH ONE STICK OF GSKILL RIPJAWS DDR3 1600  4 GB STICK IN SLOT 1. WHEN I ADD TWO MORE STICKS OF THE EXACT SAME MEMORY (I BOUGHT A 12 GB KIT OF THIS MEMORY), WINDOWS 10 WON'T BOOT COMPLETELY AND i RECEIVE 5 ERROR MESSAGES AND IT JUST LOOPS CONSTANTLY. i AM ALSO RUNNING 3 SATA HDD'S. 2 OF THESE DRIVES ARE SATA HDD'S AND THE THIRD IS A SSD. i NEED SOME HELP WITH WHY I CAN'T GET THIS MOBO TO ACCEPT THE OTHER 8 GB OF MEMORY.

Try one stick at a time in slot 1. One of the new sticks may be bad, causing the problem.

Yes, try memTest86 and see if you can identify bad memory.

Thanks to all for the help. I tested all three memory sticks in the #1 socket which I was running the motherboard in windows 10 with. All three tested good and I  happened to see a small grain in the #3 socket which I blew out of the socket. I then installed all three sticks and "voila", that was successful. Now instead of having on 4 GB's, I now have the maximum memory installed and running for this X58 SLI MOBO, which is 12GB's.

    Thanks again for the help.

Unfortunately, I spoke a little too soon and I didn't manage to put 12GB of get all 3 sticks of my G Skill Ripjaws F3-12800CL9-12GBRL, DDR3-1600 PC3-12800 4GBx3, CL9-9-9-24 installed in slots 1-3 &5 working. I am now running 2 sticks very good stability but when I place the 3rd stick in slot 5, I get a number of error codes, like bad configuration that prevents a complete boot into Windows 10. I know that all three sticks are good since I've tested them all. In the BIOS settings, I set to the XMB setting but that is the only change I made in the BIOS settings. This is maddening since two of the sticks in slots 1 & 3 work perfectly. I realized after I bought the above 12GB G Skill kit that it was 1600 frequency instead of the supported 1333 as is set forth in the X58 SLI manual. I don't suppose this has any effect on why the 3rd stick won't work in slot 5.

Is there some other settings in the BIOS that would make the 3rd stick in slot 5 work correctly?

Thanks in advance for any assistance I could get.
