Great concept design. You made it look real at first lol. This build looks like it would be sponsered by "Be Quiet" with the color scheme. I use the orange Tt Riings and I really like them the color is rich deep amber orange not too dark and not to light, just right. Just to let you know there is a point on the ring where it meets the LED and you can see a visible seam so you might want to consider their placement so it doesn't show as much. Overall looks like you will have a dam good system, looking forward to seeing it on MOD RIGS

Thanks, I hope it turns out as nice as the rendering. Haha, yeah it looks like that, I love orange. Yeah, I've noticed that there are zones on the riing fans that are lit harsher than others, and the RGB blending on the RGB versions isn't perfect.

Very nice concept designs.  I'm digging the black and orange color scheme.  Congrats on the Gear Up sponsorship!

Looks nice but I don't get the point of using an ATX board if you're just going to block the bottom part of it with the PSU, thus turning it into basically an ITX board...?

    Whats there to get?

Who wouldn't want a X99 power in such a small  form factor
The OP stole my idea ;-)
I already did it and Love it see here:
    http://forums.evga.com/MANTA-X-m2470377.aspx

No one uses HDD's or SSD's anymore (NAS is the way to go for storage)
everyone has moved to M.2 and Video cards? ...........Who needs 2 ?
One 1080 Classified or titan X blows 900 series SLI away
    I haven't use a DVD in years
And you cant make a X99 fit on a itx platform without compromise

    I LOVE THIS CASE
WHEN CAN I ORDER ONE PLEASE ??????????

Will it have smoked glass ?

    Is it ready yet ???

    LMK............... Money standing by

They make ITX x99. Why not just use that. What is the compromise if you're not even using any of the extras on the micro board?

What extras would you want to use on a Micro VS a Mini ?

The biggest reason to use a Micro X99 over the only Mini X99 you show above (Only one in existence)
is because it dos NOT support "QUAD" channel RAM
So why have a X99 chipset if you can't have quad channel
Also........No M.2 support (Fastest Hard drive ever)
Also......... hardly NO over clocking support

So your getting the best of both worlds

Small Form Factor and tons of power

    Best Regards, Rick

Quad channel makes no performance difference and you can hit the CPU's max bandwidth anyway with overclocked dual channel. http://www.pcworld.com/article/2982965/components/quad-channel-ram-vs-dual-channel-ram-the-shocking-truth-about-their-performance.html

It does in fact have m.2, not sure how you missed that.

Not sure what you mean about overclocking either, it has fine overclocking support, plenty of people OC just fine with it.

First off I'm am sorry to the OP
I was just trying to explain to this guy why you would do such a thing.....It's quite Obvious !!!! and awesome !!!!
Like I said I've already done it and WOW......just sick
If (Somethingc00l) is really something c00l he would understand it and not questions why :-(

Soooooooo, to conclude your pissing match............

Looks like the OP knows CAD to me
    In real life
with a 8 or 10 core processor, Quad channel is a Huge performance in video & Photo & yes CAD editing
and I know first hand because I own a design studio for 25 years now www.graphXshop.com
and switching to quad channel ram made a huge difference working with 5200 Pxls Large format prints
and 5 Gig MPG 4 video files..........HUGE difference

    As for $260 for a  ASRock ????
The EVGA Micro 2 is only $199 and the aesthetics are Way better

    I close with this.........
What the OP has done is fantastic work and the wave of the future
You will start to see more and more systems like this as we head down the silicon road

I never said he was using a X99 MB ;-)

Your question was  "Why use a ATX in a itx case"

I was trying to show you that hes not the only one doing it
and that your question was moot as the OP clearly wants to do it, and so did I.........

That all there is to it.............Let it go

I've finished drawing out all the measurements for the case, it took longer than it should have because I added 10mm of width to make sure there were no clearance issues with the USB headers and PCI slots.

Then i got to sawing all the various sized 1m long angle aluminium.

All the lengths filed to their size and ready for scribing.

Since last update I've been tapping M5 threads. The case still needs a few parts filed before they will fit.

Next up is filing the designs into the angle aluminium.

The concept is actually really cool.  Full ATX support in a smaller form factor case is cool.  Sometime Micro or mITX boards don't have the full array of options as a full ATX board.  Looking forward to the custom built case!
