Unfortunately full sail is VERY expensive.  I looked into going there in the past and at like 50 grand a year for a very very niche degree in the end I just couldn't justify it.

50,000 a year!  Looks like I won't be going there anytime soon.

By Full Sail, they mean every student buys the faculty yachts from that $50k a year nonsense. It's not like they're jacking the tuition pricing to cover paying for sports programs.

Going to school for CG, just plain ok dumb, and you learn more doing ur own projects. And the CG field right now is dirt-rock-hard-up, alot of CG houses past few years screwed their artist and alot didn't even get paid. Just look at GL selling ILM to Disney, big clue right there!

    My 2cets:
    Look at Blender
Lots of online tutorials(PM me for a great tutorial site)
Gimp is still a great app

Personally I've felt like Adobe, Autodesk, and greedy management of those CG houses have screwed the CG artist.

Your better off doing ur own thing, freelancing or doing ur own networking and working as a group on a single project or projects. I have been wanting to find other artists and developers to work with, depending on my current health (Deleted for abbreviated foul language).

Free free to PM me Dave.

I agree that anymore it seems that your portfolio is what will get you a job, not your degrees, at least in many arts professions.  That being said, I went straight into work without taking many classes in my field, and I now find that it would be nice to go learn some basics that I skipped in my DIY approach.  Still, at that price, you better come out making $50,000 a year for the long haul.
