How come EvGA and Nvidia Both Claimed that the 4 Cards I Purchased would have DX12 . Why DO I not Have DX12 like the 900s When It Clearly States DX12 Pre Purchase. I want it Full Support For My 780 6GB That Claimed TO be A DX12 card HMMMMM. That is the reason I got it.I Still Have All THe Printouts and original statements from this site . Im Just Asking Why? update to this ..... http://www.3dmark.com/aot/21741 It looks as if I do have DX12 support fully as of today with 760s. this is good news. So I may have pulled a trigger too soon. I am very glad I was wrong to worry..... update. pending for mixing up brands XFX Radeon HD 7950 3GB DDR5 and NVidia . I don't use amd that often so reseach test the results soon....... nope changed my mind I will not tarnish my awesome cards like that.

The first thing that has to happen is for DX12 to even get released. MS is working on that with Win10 at the moment. The next thing is for developers to begin using it in new game development. It will probably be awhile before we see anything actually using DX12. Possibly later this year. We'll have to wait and see.

It will be a Windows 10 exclusive as well, so you can't be on Windows 7 or 8.

A quick Google search turns up pages of that not being the case. But it may turn out to be false - guess we'll know when it's released. bdary

That is false according to this >> http://channel9.msdn.com/Events/Build/2014/9-004

So, speculation may turn out to be speculations and not fact.... lol. We'll see at a later date as to what dx12 will support over all. At this point, it's just speculation and hoping for things to work out.

Considering Microsoft's attempts to push people away from Win7, it wouldn't suprise me if it becomes a Win10 exclusive. Listening to the guy from the video linked above, it sounds like DX12 is designed to and could be offered on Win7 or later if they would choose to do so. Not offering it on Win7 would be a good way for MS to force "some" users to Win10.

Right now only Windows 10 has the DirectX 12 API and unless Microsoft changes its mind then that might be the only MS operating system to which DirectX 12 is ported.

When DX12 show up you will have 20fps in new games on GTX780. I don't even think about series 700 and DX12 compatibility.

Its not EVGAs fualt they did there read repeat print. It would be Nvidia responsibility. I Figured I would get a more honest reply here.

well it was coordinated like the new cpus and ddr4s and mobos and video card releases. and benchmark updates. for max intake. and insured consumedge by having the 700s doesnt mean i dont want it. 20 frames is a guess I never take word or trust me I know . I like to see for my self works for me. I find that official data is never pernament out come.

Did the ops ? get answered? I read the article and listened to the video, and most of the above comments seemed aimed at the OS as opposed to GPU support. So ill ask, will direct x12,be it on win 7-8.1-10-whatever , have support for 7xx series GPUs?

The only thing I've ever seen so far regarding hardware (GPU) support is that everything from 400 series on up will support it. Might still be a "wait & see" thing yet at this point...

There is a difference between partial and full DX 12 support. I hope more info will be forthcoming in the months to come.

You do not get DX12 until windows 10 is released, and even other past generation cards get DX12 features when it happens.

I'm glad I still have some time to see how this plays out. I'm due for a rebuild and I'm waiting to see how well received Windows 10 is. I recently upgraded to the 780 Ti to replace my 570 because the 970's were hard to come by. I also picked the 780 Ti up at a great price, $320.00, just to hold me over to the next generation of GPU's. (22nm, 20nm, 18nm, ???) My 780 Ti outperforms my friends newer 970 in most applications, so we just need to wait and see. It's going to be awhile before any new titles that fully support DX12 become available. Just sit tight and enjoy what you already have...times are a changin.

Do u know if the feature allowing the use of all VRAM in sli would be considered "partial" or "full" DX12 support?

Yes that is what I want to know exactly also. This is important to me. 700s series is fantastic And I plan on using and buying them for a while longer. I just got another 760 so i can three way SLI Surround on 3 HDs. DX12 full support for 700s is the question. Dosent matter what windows who cares about that. I will use what ever window needed. just got 3rd one .... update:3/18/2015

I get irritated at a few things . but latest is 349.90 with no triple SLI support , Runs the supposed DX12 in 3dmark under features. says it will only run on win 10 but I see this in return .look at the version and the corner right. miss info but is it. .whatever. I didn't even ever have 8.1 0n this drive. Wound not post the picture but you get it right.?

The trick, to get the latest, is join the fast ring. I'm already on the next build, that enables Spartan, got it over a week ago...
Gigabyte Z590 Vision G Mobo, intel i3 10105 CPU, 32GB GSkill Ripjaws DDR4 3200 RAM, EVGA GTX 750ti FTW Video Card, EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 power supply, Fractal Design Focus G (White) case, Cooler Master Hyper212 RGB Black CPU cooler. 2 Dell LED Monitors (20" & 24"), SK Hynix Gold 1TB SATA SSD (OS Drive), 6 WD HDDs 13TB total (Storage). Rig is a partial update on the old Gigabyte P43/Q6600 OC rig... The WD HDD's, (13TB, total), Blu-ray & DVD burners, GTX750ti FTW & Supernova 850 G2 psu, migrated from old setup... Will get an 11700K, and an RTX 3060 12GB Black card, when I'm ready to OC... Windows 11 Pro set for performance, and it runs at 4.2Ghz... Thrustmaster Ferrari GT Experience Wheel/Pedals, Built for Gaming, Video Production, and Cakewalk, Cubase DAWs...

Just tested two 3GB 780ti cards in SLI under Win10 10049 with driver 349.90 and DX12 shows 6144MB of dedicated VRAM. So yes, DX12 will stack the VRAM on 700-series cards.
