Today announced the publication of the DisplayPort Alternate Mode ("Alt Mode") on USB Type-C Standard

    I dont see the need for any other cables. Now, can wet get rid of the other 9000 cable we dont use, to the curb nows....

    We just run all the dern cabling outside the box now days,
     

     
     
    Anyone remember the 30 feet of ISA ribbon cables inside a tiny tiny box and no air flow.....

    Everything should be fiber by now, I dont know why the market isn't moving away from copper.

    Durability. I have done fiber runs from switches to computer and i cant tell you how many times they break. Mosy people are not gently with equipment.

    I have too, but fiber comes in a number of different jackets. Something as thick as an HDMI should have enough insulation to stay intact from the everyday user.
    OR I am giving the everyday person to much credit.
