i7 920 @ 4GHz and 1910MHz with HT on.
An old thread and I thought I just had a soso overclock but I felt like contributing. I built this computer about a year ago and tweaked around for a while to get it rock solid. Just updated the BIOS the latest 77. Does not appear to have changed anything for me although I have not run any bench yet.

I agree^ Either you have a really REALLY bad overclocking cpu, or you are just overcompensating.

im confused. youre almost at 1.5 how much higher can you go? are you on air cooling? The reason why its not as hot is because the overclock is only 3800mhz, if you could do 4400mhz with the same voltage, it would be a lot hotter.

im confused. youre almost at 1.5 how much higher can you go? are you on air cooling? The reason why its not as hot is because the overclock is only 3800mhz, if you could do 4400mhz with the same voltage, it would be a lot hotter.

I'm with ya bud, leaving it that  high is just gonna ruin something IMO.
 
If I am reading it right: 
- 3.6-ishGHz O/c with hyper threading disabled but using 1.475V?
- 6GB RAM at ~1456MHz w/ 1.7v on the DIMM & +300VTT?
- 1.9v CPU PLL core?
- IOH/ICH/ I/O voltage at 1.65v? 
 
PC must have really pissed him off for him to abuse it like that!
 
I don't need that much voltage to push my 965 EE to 4.3GHz with my 12GB of memory at 1932MHz, and it ain't exactly a spring chicken i7...

Just got it this weekend on a trade deal, so still working out the details. Have 3x2gb Mushkin 1600's and a XSPC Rasa block that should be here by the end of the week...

Went off some guides I found for most voltages, been slowly lowering everything and testing each night to try and get a base of voltages at these clocks, then going to push for 4.2+ once the H2o is going...  The TRUE is ok, but temps peak at 70 - 75c now full load so I dont want to go much farther..
