Now I am getting a little worried... I am partially blind and do not have good enough eyesight now that I think I could handle doing the thermal pads. My card has been running fine and seems to say pretty cool - upper 60's c while gaming.

Does this VBIOS update also include the Micron Memory Artifacts (checkerboarding) if you try to overclock the EVGA GTX1070 FTW that has Micron Memory Chips? I see that this VBIOS version is higher than the one posted to fix the Micron Memory Chip artifacts and other problems, in an other post. So..does this update for fan speed also include the fix for Micron Memory installed GTX 1070 FTW cards?

Does the VBIOS for the fan speed, also address the Micron Memory Artifacts if you have updated to this BIOS, from your original factory? I have Micron Memory on my card, and get the checkerboard artifact, and then system reboot (W10 Pro). I just installed this .72 VBIOS, and hope this also addresses the Micron Memory artifact glitch, within this one update. Can anyone confirm this?

So, should I then install the VBIOS that does address memory issues with cards using Micron memory, and forget this fan curve update? Or..do I update the Micron BIOS...and THEN update once more to this fan update? A little confused...

Can EVGA give us a tracking number? I live in South America so i have no idea of how international shipping works and if it can be tracked at all but the thermal pad page haven't been updated anymore (last update: Request Shipped 11/09/2016 (Please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery). There is no tracking number, at least for me.

akteni Did anyone noticed that there are 2 different thermal pad application guide? When you click on the link provided in the 2nd message from your cell, the guide is quite different than what we see in evga's statement. The one on the phone is more extensive with 5 more steps and it has 3 more thermal pads called VRM pads. I think it asks you to replace VRM pads which are already in place as far as I understand from steps. EVGA, what are you trying to do?? [....]
I think you're actually misreading VRAM as VRM, as in replacing the thermal pads over the memory, which is something we've been including in our Thermal Mod kits that we ship to customers. Only the first shipment, generally, went out before we began including the VRAM pads with all Thermal Mod kits. We actually have several versions of the Thermal Mod guide, largely depending on when we completed the guide and which cards the guide is created for. If you've been following this process from the beginning, then you'll know that we originally only offered thermal pads and thermal paste to customers that requested the kits. Soon after, we began adding the VRAM pads to the kits, which required a new guide. There is also a guide for GTX 1060s, which is different than the one you posted, due to a slightly different type of installation. However, I'll follow up with our web team during this week to update the site to include current versions of the guides for each set of cards, but it will be a short week for us here in Brea, due to the upcoming holiday.

It's against the forum rules to speak in others languages outside the warranty sub-forum but yes, i updated the BIOS.

Sorry, What about the noise level, is it loud? And the temperature, is it cooler? Do you recommend the update? Thanks

It depends on your case, i have a Corsair 780T running at full speed so even with the new BIOS update i can hardly hear the GPU fans spinning, i even increased the fan curve even more since i like lower temps more than a quiet PC. You can test it yourself without installing the BIOS, just increase the fan speed to like 1900~2100 rpm with EVGA Precision, that's the speed you will probably be getting with the new BIOS while playing games (at idle it will still be at 0% fan speed like before). As for temps it decreased around 5c compared to the older BIOS.

Hey guys, I got my thermal mod kit and installed it, but was wondering if this is a big deal or not: Should I take it apart and adjust the position of the pad?

If you placed the pads where EVGA said to place them, I think you will be just fine.

I received my 1080 FTW RMA replacement and the new card is alot cooler then the old one. My first 1080 was seeing temps of 82c when playing battlefield 1 and it was making Alot of heat in my PC case. The RMA 1080 is not going over 62c in BF1 and my PC case is alot cooler. Its no longer acting like a space heater in my room.
