not sure if this has been asked before but......


if i have 4 vid cards on water and add in another pcie card will all slots drop to 8x?

Hello Fit,Yes,they should drop all to 8x speed,after all the two nf200 should add only other 32 lanes other than the 36 of the x58/5520 so we have 4 x16 full speed and other 4x pci2.0 lanes left . Anyway wait for confirmation,SHamino knows for sure better.
@Shamino or anybody who can answer :  why when i set an uncore multiplier different from default one in the bios,in cpu-z it always shows me the default value instead of the modified one?
My cpu is a x5650 B1 revision

the slots work the same as the e762. slot 1 and 2 share 16 lanes. Populate the second slot and they both drop to x8 and so on with the other slots except the last one which is locked at x16. It's also in the manual and in the knowledgebase.

No revison - still same board.
 
A1= with ECP
A2= without ECP

This is just a basic lay out of the BIOs that you can go off of like I did.  Each CPU is different so you may have to try changing some of the settings.

hey guys im having a problem with detecting my creative x-fi titanium HD card on this board. Im running gtx 480 in sli on the 1st and 3rd pci slot, tried connecting the sound card on 4th, 5th and 6th slot but windows does not detect any sound card connected. Have yet to try the last pci slot. Card is working fine, tried on another pc. Any help?
 
Edit: oh btw using Win7 64 bit OS. Card was working fine on my previous board r3e
